I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:

a. distinguish the types of speech style;


b. identify the social situations in which each speech style
is appropriate to use; and
c. observe the appropriate language forms in using a
particular speech style

requires understanding of speech context, speech style, speech
act and communicative strategy.

A. Introduction Routinary Activities (15 minutes per meeting)

the start of the lesson.

The students will give a recap about the previous lesson.

Activity 1 (10 minutes)


Direction: Accomplish the comic strip by sharing a day in
your life as you go to school. Supply the needed statement(s) in
each scenario. Use the drawings as your guide.
B. Development

Lesson Proper (45 minutes)


The teachers will discuss the Speech Styles. The students will
participate on the discussion.

Activity 2 (35 minutes)


Directions: Distinguish how you should communicate in the
following speaking situations through the diagram below.
Write the letter of the speaking situation to its appropriate type
of speech style.
C. Engagement The teacher will ask the students the speech styles (10
minutes)

Activity 3 (40 minutes)


Directions: The students will answer the items given by the
teacher about what they have learned.

Activity 4 (30 minutes)


Directions: Identify the appropriate speech style to be used in
the given situation then provide a possible dialogue using the
appropriate language form of each speech style.
D. Assimilation Assessment 1 (20 minutes)
Directions: Choose the letter of the correct answer. Write your
answers on a separate sheet of paper.
