- The tittle for my capstone project is regarding accounting and its history.
 
What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that
you cannot just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.   
My inquiry question is: 
 
- How has accounting changed and helped over the years.
 
 
Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry
connect to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you? 
 
- Since I want to work as an accountant and pursue a CPA profession, I chose accounting
for this project.
 

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this

area of inquiry? 
 
- In grade 11, I attended an accounting course that truly piqued my attention and taught me
the fundamentals of the subject, including the balance sheet, journal, ledger, taxes,
transactions, and numerous other topics.
 

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What
connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals? 

- It would provide me with understanding about how accounting has changed and
evolved through time.

- The subject areas that would be connected to this project are accounting and finance.

- PPT and a website would be the formats I would use for the capstone presentation.
 
 
 
Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal. 

-  For the capstone project, accounting would be my major area of interest. There are
several work options and career progression in accounting. Since a company's
financial situation is the most crucial factor, almost every organisation is impacted
by the information that accountants offer. The earliest accounting record were
found over 7,000 years ago. Accounting history continues to provide historical
perspective on the current issues. There have been several scandals and fraud
cases over the years, and there have also been significant developments in the
fields of data security, advisory accounting services, holistic advisors, automated
processes, artificial intelligence, and many others. I'm interested in conducting
research to learn more about the scandals and scams that have occurred, as well
as how they were caused and rectified. According to a poll, 54% of US respondents
said their firms had suffered fraud totaling more than $100,000, with 8% saying it
exceeded $5 million. The seven worst accounting scandals in American history
have all occurred. Over the years, a lot has transpired that has to be taken into
account. I'd want to do some study on Luca Pacioli, who was the first person to publish
in-depth information about the double-entry bookkeeping method. He was the creator
of balance sheets with debits and credits, which are currently widely used. He
published several accounting books, including Suma de Arithmetica, Geometria,
Proprtioni et Proportionalita, as well as the first accounting textbook. He was formerly
referred to be the Father of Accounting. He explained how journals and ledgers are
used in accounting systems and advised that the accountant must not go to sleep until
the debits and credits are equal. He established ledgers that were based on accounting
for assets, receivables, inventories, liabilities, capital, expenditures, and revenue. In
actual accounting, Luca established the golden rule of debiting what is received and
crediting what is expended. I want to look at how accounting was created and why
those who lived in that age believed it was significant and would benefit the future.

access/learn all of the resources necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail
your plans.  
 
- The resourses that I planes to use in this project are google and the library sd35
resoureses and the technology that im planning on using is my laptop.

- For the capstone project, I volunteered in the business and management section of the
WAVE programme. WAVE was my choice since I believed it would aid me more in my
research.
