Household Violence Towards Women in Malaysia
1. Physical.
Hitting, slapping, shoving, grabbing, pinching, biting, hair pulling are types of physical
abuse.
2. Sexual.
Coercing or attempting to coerce any sexual contract or behavior without consent.
Sexual abuse also includes, but is certainly not limited to, marital rape, attacks on
sexual parts of the body, forcing sex after physical violence has occurred or treating
one in a sexually demeaning manner.
- Failed to control anger, which is lost judgement until he was willing to hit his partner
- Fragile religious beliefs
- Financial problems, which is having argument, basically from low income family
- Unhealthy lifestyle, like alcohol consumption, drugs or gambling
- Heavy workload at his office
- Raised in an abusive environment
- Has wrong or bad perspective towards women
- Disagreement between each other
- Injuries to any parts of body (such as : bruises, wounds, broken bones that cause
permanent disability and death)
- Psychological or mental effects (such as : depression, anxiety, fear)
- Prone to self-harm or suicide
- Get counseling
- Undergo rehabilitation treatment
- Join a support group
- Make a police report if widespread
- Plan a safety route to get out from the bad situation
