    This document describes an automatic night street light project. The project uses four transistors, four resistors, two light dependent resistors (LDR), LED lights, a battery, and connecting wires. When light falls on the LDR, its resistance increases and the current does not flow, so the LEDs do not light up. However, when light is not falling on the LDR, its resistance decreases which allows current to flow and the LEDs to glow, lighting up the street at night. The aim is to automatically switch on the LED lights in the absence of light using this circuit.

    AUTOMATIC
    NIGHT STREET
    LIGHT
    Aim: To automatically switch on LED in the absence of light.
    Apparatus: Four Transistor(1kw), Four Resistor(1kohm), connecting
    wires, Two LDR, LED Lights, Battery and Battery Connector.
    Procedure:
    1. Solder two transistors as shown in figure.
    2. Now, solder two resistors to second transistor.
    3. Now, solder LDR with both resistors as shown in figure.
    4. Connect both transistors with connecting wire as shown.
    5. Now, solder battery connector to transistor and second
    resistor,
    a. Connect negative terminal to point of solder of two
    transistor and,
    b. Connect positive terminal to second resistor
    6. Now, solder the parallel circuit of LED on road to first
    transistor and second resistor.
    Theory: Transistor: A transistor is a miniature semiconductor that
    regulates or controls current or voltage flow in addition amplifying and
    generating these electrical signals and acting as a switch /gate for
    them.
    Resistor: A resistor is an electrical component that limits or regulates
    the flow of electrical current in an electronic circuit. Resistors can also
    be used to provide a specific voltage for an active device such as a
    transistor.
    LDR: Photoresistors, also known as light dependent resistors (LDR),
    are light sensitive devices most often used to measure the light
    intensity.
    LED: A light emitting diode (LED) is a forward biased p-n junction diode
    That emits visible light when energized. LED work on the phenomenon
    of electroluminescence. The colour of light emitted depends on the
    semiconducting material used.

    Result:
    When we connect battery to battery connector and close the circuit.
    When light falls on LDR, resistance of LDR increases and current dose
    not flow. When we stop light falling to LDR, resistance of LDR
    decreases and current flow and LED glow up and light up the Street at
    night.
