Exchange students on this program live with host families and attend high school while living in
the U.S. Name characteristics you have that will help you adjust to living in the U.S. Explain.

Characteristics are things that you can build over time and experience. And I think that some of
my experiences were just to build me for this big event that probably I won’t ever be able to do
again in my life. Some of my characteristics were built by these experiences.
The London trip is one of my best memories. There I got to experience how it is living in a
foreign country and also living in a place with a different language. There I was able to leave out
the fear of speaking English with the thought of spelling the words wrong, also I was able to see
how it is living outside the Balkan region. For the reasons that I mentioned before, I think I’m
suitable for this program.
The first time in Albania without parents is the first experience I remember. It happened when I
was in the 1st grade ( about 6 years old ). At that time I was at the football ( soccer ) club. In the
summertime, the club announced that there was going to be a 1 week camp in Albania. I got to
experience how it was living without my parents for some time, since then I didn’t have a
problem living alone for some time, also I got better at managing money and with a word
looking after myself.
Let's get to the characteristics themselves, I can speak my opinion and my thoughts without fear
that they won’t align with other people's views, I’m quite open-minded and I like to listen to
people with different experiences than my own, I always try to think outside the box because, in
my opinion, it’s more interesting, I love to try new interesting things, etc…
