PA 204 – ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

I. Course Description

This focuses on the concepts and methods of managing an organization, to help one develop an
understanding and awareness of the essentials of managing and of the way organizations
behave. Managing in today’s turbulent times requires the full breadth of management skills
and capabilities. Thus, it is important to help current and future managers find innovative
solutions to the problems that plague today’s organizations – whether they are everyday
challenges or once-in a lifetime crisis.

II. Objectives: At the end of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Discuss the meaning / significance of management theories and practices in

organizations.
2. Explain the emerging trends in the management of organizations.
3. Identify the man-management tools designed to make the subordinates more
productive and effective.
4. Identify and describe the major components of the organization’s internal and external
environments, their effect, significance, and impact on an organization.
5. Answer and submit cases and other assigned topics.
