As per the requirement of RDSO conveyed by specification and letter ref no.1,2, &3, Ev2
- Modulus of Elasticity test is mandatory at site to check the behavior of the bedding
layer, bearing capacity of soil as well as deformation condition at top of each formation
layer i.e. Subsoil/OGL, Embankment/Subgrade and Blanket.
Presently the Ev2 test is being carried out by Plate Bering Tester electronic device
instruments at the frequency of one test per km length of section at site.

SUBJECT: EV2 TEST REPORTS (0-20 KM).

Ev2 (Deformation Modulus)

As per the requirement of RDSO conveyed by specification and letter ref no.1,2, &3, Ev2
- Modulus of Elasticity test is mandatory at site to check the behavior of the bedding
layer, bearing capacity of soil as well as deformation condition at top of each formation

One of the main characteristics influencing the durability of any concrete is its permeability.
Therefore, tests for permeability is being carried out for concrete bridges as per requirement
of RVNL Specification and IRS Concrete Bridge Code.
(1) Permeability test shall be mandatory for all RCC/PSC bridges under severe and extreme
environment;
(2) Under moderate environment, permeability test shall be mandatory for all major bridges
and for other bridges permeability test is desirable to the extent possible.
(3) Permeability test is required for RCC/PSC structural element only.
(4) The depth of penetration of moisture shall not exceed 25 mm as per cl.no.5.4.2 of IRS
CBC & cl.no. 7.3 of RVNL Specification.
