Tools, Materials & Equipment in Power Supply Assembly

Learning Objectives:
After reading this Information Sheet, You must be able to:
1. Identify cleaning materials according to the prescribed standard
requirement in cleaning light vehicle;
2. Give examples of the prescribe cleaning materials based on the standard
requirements in the cleaning light;
3. Classify the prescribe cleaning materials based on standard requirements
in cleaning light vehicle.

INTRODUCTION

Sufficient knowledge of the technician about car cleaning agents and

appropriate tools/equipment contributes much in order to have a well-
maintained light vehicle. Chemicals used in cleaning products, such as
laundry detergents, bleaches, dish washing products and other household
cleaners, can help improve cleaning efficiency and hygiene in homes, offices
and other environments. Cleaning products play an essential role in people's
daily lives by removing soils, germs, and other contaminants to help prevent
the spread of infectious diseases and control allergens, such as dust and
mold.

Cleaning agents used to remove dirt, dust, residue, and odors,

cleaning agents help us reduce or eliminate cross contamination and the
spread of germs. Some are designed to lift dirt away for easier cleaning,
while others are used to kill bacteria and clean at the same time. There are
so many cleaning supplies on the market, but all formulas ultimately fall
into one of four distinct categories: detergents, degrease, abrasives, and
acids. Ultimately, each has a specific job to do, which means it's critical to
ensure you're using the correct agent for the task at hand. To ensure you're
doing just that, we tapped two experts to find out which category common
household products fall into, and we asked them to share when and where
you should (and shouldn't!) be using them.

emulsifying agent. This means that while oil (which attracts dirt) doesn’t
naturally mix with water, soap can suspend oil/dirt in such a way that it
can be removed. Safe to use on any painted vehicle surface. Will not hard

Flat Screwdriver

A Screwdriver featuring a single flat blade that is designed to be used

with a screw that has a straight slot across its top. Special screws with
cross-shaped slots in their heads require a special screwdriver with a blade
tip that fits the slots. The most common special screw is the Phillips head.

Cross Wrench

A lug wrench also colloquially known as a tire iron, is the name for a type of
socket-wrench used to loosen and tighten lug nuts on automobile. In the
United Kingdom and Australia, it is commonly known as a wheel brace.
Lug wrenches may be L-shaped, or X-shaped. The form commonly found in
car trunks is an L-shaped metal rod with a socket wrench on the bent end
and a prying tip on the other end. The prying tip is mainly intended to
remove hub caps or wheel covers that may be covering a wheel's lug nuts.

Long Nose
Needle nose pliers, also known as long-nose pliers, is a versatile tool
that has long, tapering jaws with a pointed tip. Among their many uses are
gripping, bending, and cutting small-gauge wire. They can reach into tight
places that are inaccessible to other types of pliers. They also provide
excellent control and are well-suited to precision work or to grip parts that
are too small to hold with your fingers. Long Nose pliers are both cutting
and holding pliers used by artisans, jewelry designers, electricians, network
engineers and other tradesmen to bend, re-position and cut wire. Because of
their long shape they are useful for reaching into small areas where cables
or other materials have become stuck or unreachable with fingers or other
means.

Equipment

Equipment most commonly refers to a set of tools or other objects

commonly used to achieve a particular objective. Different jobs require
different kinds of equipment. Special purpose equipment means equipment
which is used only for research, medical, scientific, or other technical
activities. Examples of special purpose equipment include microscopes, x-
ray machines, surgical instruments, and spectrometers.

Light Vehicle

Light Vehicle means a motor vehicle commonly referred to as an automobile,

van, sport utility. You understand that you may not be reimbursed for any
unauthorized repair work and costs associated with repairs for a Light
Vehicle where the total repair costs are in excess of the Current ACV
Threshold amount for that Light Vehicle.

Steam Cleaner/ Vacuum Steamer

All-in-one vacuums and steam cleaners combine both vacuuming and steam
cleaning into one machine, so you can knock out both tasks with one
purchase. They work like wet-dry vacuums. You vacuum debris and give
your floors a deep clean at the same time, effectively killing germs and
sanitizing your floors.
Power is the most critical factor for both parts of the cleaning process when
shopping for a model. A worthy combo cleaner needs to have enough suction
to get the dirt out. And, it needs equally strong steam and pressure for deep
cleaning and germ-killing. Dirt and grime should lift away easily.

Vacuum Cleaner

Vertical vacuum cleaners are powerful, lightweight and offer great value-for-
money. They have powerful suction to trap dust and allergens from carpets
and floors. The best thing about vertical vacuum cleaners is that they are
easy to assemble and use. Some of the high-end vertical vacuum models
support steam mopping, which absorbs dirt from the floor and the heat of
the steam kills harmful bacteria and dust-mites. It also sanitizes the floor in
the process.

5’s
5’s is a set of techniques used in the industry that could provide the
standard approach of good housekeeping within the school compound. In
industry, this can increase production, improves quality, reduces costs,
maximize and value time, improves safety and morale to which could also
happen to school. Practicing 5’s make the school a more conducive place of
