NIETZSCHE AND DERRIDA: TRUTH and VALUE(S)

Abstract
Nietzsche claims that the contemporary European culture is a culture of decadence, and so
it should admitted as the main source of nihilism. In order to get rid of the nihilism as an illness,
Nietzsche insists that modern European conceptions of value(s) and truht (or reality) have to be
re-examined and re-evaluated. On the other hand, nowadays, Jacques Derrida, as a post-
structuralist and post-modernist thinker claims that his own philosophy mainly has arisen from
