Maintaining neck posture with bilateral shoulder abduction
Client`s aim
To improve control around your shoulder blades while using your
arms.
Client`s instructions
Position yourself in sitting. Ensure that your posture is good by sitting
up tall, drawing your shoulder blades towards the centre of your spine
and nodding your chin. Maintain this shoulder blade position while
moving your arms in and out. Do not to lift the arms more than 30
degrees.
Precautions
1. This exercise may cause discomfort but it should not increase your

To strengthen the muscles at the front of your shoulder and stretch or
maintain length of the muscles at the back of your shoulder.
Client`s instructions
Position yourself standing facing the wall. Place the palm of your hand
against the wall and slowly `walk` your fingers up the wall.

Push-ups in prone
Client`s aim
To strengthen the muscles at the front of your shoulder and chest.
Client`s instructions
Position yourself lying on your stomach. Practice doing push-ups
through your hands so that your hips lift up off the bed. Ensure that
your body is kept horizontal.

1. Impaired or absent sensation of stretch.
