I've always believed that my speech and written communication capabilities

are poor. Effective verbal and nonverbal communication of my thoughts and

feelings seemed to come to me very slowly. However, I didn't realize how much
my writing and speech were lacking until my thoughts and feelings on writing and
speech were pushed nearly to their breaking point through my oral communication
subject. Since we lived in a time where individuals mostly communicate with one
another through chat or text, learning the basics of communication is critical to
avoid misunderstandings. I am not that good, but I've learnt how to present myself
verbally and in writing.
The way we communicate can be especially important in representing
ourselves in our community. In the beginning, of the semester, we compose an
essay about the death penalty whether we agree with it or not, and then we must
deliver it in front of the class. Throughout my speech, I gained new ideas and
strategies for improving my speaking style. As a result, the effectiveness of speech
depends on the speaker. Therefore, by using the structure that I've learned we can
create a deeper connection to the audience.
