The studies demonstrate the need for readiness of our country in case of pandemic in the
direction of education. Although, children found to be protected from deadly infections but
why education must continue even in times of pandemic? Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones
always says, “Education must continue even in times of crisis, whether it may be a calamity,
disaster, emergency, quarantine, or even war.” This learning continuity overcomes obstacles
created by the pandemic through innovative means of teaching and learning, keeping students
on track with their courses. Instead of physical classes facing teachers in schools, students
will be taught through printed modules, online learning, and TV or radio lessons.
According to DepEd's December 2019 data, only 67% of Filipinos have access to the
internet. How about the remaining 33%? According to DepEd, printed modules will be
provided to those without internet access. Based on data from July 7, more than 18 million
students from public and private schools have already enrolled. This is just over half of the 27
