INTRODUCTION
Automatic Solar Street light Control System is a simple yet powerful
concept, which uses a transistor as a switch.By using this system manual
work is 100% removed. It automatically switches ON lights when sunlight
goes below the visibe region of our eyes and when it detects movement
detection otherwise switches OFF
How It Works

IR detects infrared radiation in its surrounding and Light not falls
on LDR(it shows its maximum resistance voltage drops across
LDR greater than voltage of transistor,so current will go through
the collector which is used to drive next transistor and relay
gets energized) switches ON lamp

It automatically switches ON light when the sunlight goes below
the visible region of our eyes and movement detected

ABOUT THE COMPONENTS

Transistor
It has Emitter terminal,a base terminal and a collector terminal
current flowing from the base to the emitter controls the
collector current

Solar Panel
Used to absorb the sun’s rays and convert them
into electricity

Diode
used to allow the flow of current in only
one direction

Zener Diode
used as voltage regulator

LDR(Light Dependent Resistor)
used to decrease or increase the resistance with
increasing or decreasing incident light intensity

Relay
provides isolation between the controller
and the device
operate the switching operations of
street lights

Resistor
Used to maintain flow of current

Battery
Used to provide backup power during power outage

LED(Light Emitting Diode)
Electrical current passes through a microchip, which illuminates
the tiny light source we call LEDs and the result is visible light

PCB Board
Used to mechanically support and electrically connect
electronic components using
u conductive path ways

IR Sensor
Used to measure and detects infrared radiation in its
surrounding environment
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
ADVANTAGES

Energy Savings

Low Cost

Automated Operation

No need of external power sources
DISADVANTAGES

Higher initial investment compared to conventional street light
system

Risk of theft of the automatic street light system is relatively
higher since they are non wired and much expensive
APPLICATIONS

Used in street light applications

Used in Domestic applications
CONCLUSION
Auto Intensity Control of Street Lights are more effective in case of
cost, man power and security compared to today conventional light
control system. We can save more than 80% of energy and we can
control the loss of power.Since long warranty is given to major
components, maintanance also less and can be brought to our streets
