Quick Start Guide (remote access to software)

1) Open an internet browser (for ex Mozilla or Google Chrome) and follow the link: https://vdi7-security.nu.edu.kz/
2) Click on “VMware Horizon HTML Access”
3) Login under your domain account (NU login and password which you type into a PC (NOT AN EMAIL ACCOUNT!))
4) You will see the 4 Stata Virtual Labs to access Stata software, each virtual lab allows 25-user connections to Stata
(Overall 100 connections are available at the same time divided on 4 groups with 25-users/students)
1) STATA12SE SHSS virtual lab- contains 25-user Stata 12 SE version
2) STATA 8322 SHSS virtual lab –contains 25-user Stata 13 MP version
3) STATA 8422 SHSS virtual lab –contains 25-user Stata 13 MP version
4) STATA14MP SHSS virtual lab- contains 25-user Stata 14 MP version
5) Enter to a virtual lab you need (click on the icon). You will see Stata on the Desktop.
6) Open the Program and choose settings the same as the following screen below:
7) After completing your work, it is very important to Log Off!

Press the button with three vertical stripes on the left-mid of your screen. There, you will see “Running” (the one you
are using) and “Available” networks. Press the button that looks like a “list sign” on the right of the network you are
running. Press Log off.

IMPORTANT: Do not save any data on the desktop, all data will be lost after logging off from the session. Soon, there
will be available disk space, called Z, for you to save your files.
PLEASE DO NOT SHUT DOWN OR RESTART THE REMOTE PC!!!
