Virtual & Face to Face Training

Agile Learning Overview

What is Agile Learning?

Performance Enhancement recognises that flexibility in training delivery is required.
Developing courses in a modular format with interactions designed to be flexible for any course
delivery format, is beneficial to learner participation and trainer preparation.

An agile learning format is developed and designed for flexible course delivery in virtual or face to
face classrooms using only one set of course materials.

Virtual Training Only

Virtual Delivery - Equipment & Facilities

When attending the training, please ensure you have the following:
• A quiet, comfortable place to work - We recommend that you do not attend from your
office desk if you are situated in an open office environment as this can be noisy and
distracting.
• A computer - If you're using a laptop, make sure that is plugged into the mains - don't rely
on your batteries.
• A quality headset with microphone - This is a must. We recommend a USB connection.
• Broadband Internet Connection - As a general rule a download speed between 2-3Mbp
and an upload speed of at least 0.5Mbp will be fine. Please be aware, if you opt to use a
wireless connection, this is likely to result in the sound dropping in and out as the session
progresses

Virtual Delivery - Troubleshooting

We recommend participants are encouraged to log into the course session at least 15 minutes
prior to the start of the course to ensure there is time to resolve any audio and connection issues.

• If you have trouble logging in or your sound is not working correctly it is always best to close
all programs, reboot your computer, stop any background programs that are running and
log-in again.
• Check that your Audio is set up correctly and that your headset is correctly plugged in (if
this is a USB connection, it is always worth trying a different USB port if you have one).
• If you still have a problem call or text your Course Facilitator (contact details included
within the Joining Instruction email) but please be aware that if the session is about to start,
or has started, there will be very little the Facilitator will be able to do at that time to assist
you.
• Note: It may be best for participants to download the virtual online application being used
especially when working from a desktop or Apple device.

Frequently Used Virtual Platform Features

Microphone Feature
Allows participants to ask/answer questions,
Mic is muted
i.e. no one can
give feedback/participate in discussions by
hear you
enabling mics.

As a standard, microphones should be muted

during the session. The trainer will prompt
audio responses or participants can raise their Mic is on
hand using the emoticon feature explained i.e. everyone can
hear you
below, to indicate they want to speak.

Chat Feature
One of the main methods of communication in
the virtual classroom. It uses text functionality to
commentary, questions and conversations.

Messages can be addressed to ‘everyone’

(recommended setting) or individuals in the
group.

Use Chat to interact with all in session by ensuring

that you have ‘Everyone’ selected

Emoticon Feature
Allows for quick response or attention notification.
Use Emoticons to share your feelings. This can also
be used an indicator to the trainer, for example,
click on:

• The raised hand – to indicate you have a

question
• The thumbs up to represent understanding/
that you are ready, or you or ‘like’ the
content.
• You click on the respective emoticon when
prompted for an exercise or for the trainer’s
attention. To remove the selected
emoticon, click a second time.

Annotation Feature
Allows participants to
collaborate and write
their ideas and
comments on the files
shared or on a
whiteboard
On the left-hand side
panel there is an
‘annotation’ tool. Select
the squiggly line for
annotation options.

Here are all of the

annotation options
