On character creation, each character may choose up to 3 Archetype abilities to

modify their basic growths and stats, giving them a different feel from each other.
Once selected, the character recieves its benefits for the rest of their
adventuring career, with the abilities in question scaling as they level.

Archetypes:

Scholar: The character chooses one magic list from the following options - White,
Black, Red, Green, Blue, Summoning, Time, Performances, Dark Arts, or Illusions.
They gain one level 1 spell at levels 1, 3, 5, and 7. At levels 9, 11, 13, and 15,
they gain one level two spell of their chosen list. At levels 17, 19, and 21, they
gain a level three spell from their chosen list. At levels 23, 25, and 27, they
gain a level four spell from their chosen list. At levels 29 and 31, they gain a
level five spell from their chosen list. In addition, the character gains +2 MP per
level. Special: this Archetype can be selected more than once. Each time it is
taken after the first, you only get +1 MP per level, and you lose 1 HP per level.

Art of War: The character chooses one manuever list from the following options -
Ninjustsu, Dragon Arts, Rend Blade, Swordplay, Spellblade, Bushido, Dark Blade,
Holy Blade, Aim, Gunplay, Piracy, Martial Arts, or Blitz. They gain one level 1
maneuver at levels 1, 3, 5, and 7. At levels 9, 11, 13, and 15, they gain one level
two manuever of their chosen list. At levels 17, 19, and 21, they gain a level
three manuever from their chosen list. At levels 23, 25, and 27, they gain a level
four maneuver from their chosen list. At levels 29 and 31, they gain a level five
maneuver from their chosen list. In addition, the character gains +2 HP per level.
Special: this Archetype can be selected more than once. Each time it is taken after
the first, you only get +1 HP per level, and you lose 1 MP per level.

Creative Methods: The character chooses one of the following lists of special items
uses to gain access to - Use, Drink, Throw, Draw Out, Utility, Divine, Mix, or
Slots. When chosen, the character gains the ability to make use of those chosen
items, as well as purchase them from any store. The character gains +1 to one of
the following stats - Agility, Intelligence, or Spirit. Special: This Archetype can
be selected more than once. Each time it is taken, you may choose another list of
special items to gain access to. The character can also take this ability an
additional time to gain access to the Salvage ability, letting them have a chance
of harvesting items of their chosen list(s) from enemies or special locations, such
as a lab for Drink, Use, Utility, or Mix, or learning a new Slot result at a
Casino, etc. The character also increases another stat from the list above each
time it is taken.

Expert: Choose an ability not listed here, or that's not a passive ability
obtainable by forgoing an Archetype, and gain access to it. Alternatively, you can
work with your GM to design a new ability for the system, and gain access to it.
Special: This Archetype can be selected more than once.
