I. Project Title

The Be READy to Read Program is a program of Calube Integrated School that

aims to discover the reading profile of each child at all levels through the use of PHIL
IRI and various exercises. It also aims to improve students' reading skills through
different strategies and approaches. It prioritizes students who struggle and are just
beginning to read

II. Rationale

Reading is one of the four language skills. It is recognizing and capturing

ideas and thoughts in printed symbols. It is a process of understanding the
messages that the author wants to share with the reader of what he writes. This
work is a mental step towards recognizing, interpreting and predicting what the
author writes. In addition to language skills are speaking, listening, and writing.
There are many benefits to be gained from reading. It provides new knowledge,
entertainment and learning and skills that can happen in real life. It is not enough
to have the ability to read quickly, what is important is the mental response to
what is being read, even the subject being read is entertainment.

III. Overview
Some of the Filipino children do not know how to read and understand what
they read, in order to alleviate this problem, Calube Integrated School has
developed and sought strategies suitable for these children according to their level
and profile. This process was used based on the Reading Program launched by
Basa Pilipinas.
