Discuss the differences between the bathing cultures of different civilizations?

- Bathing played a major part in ancient Roman culture and society. It was one of the
most common daily activities in Roman culture and was practiced across a wide variety
of social classes.

-Though many contemporary cultures see bathing as a very private activity conducted in
the home, bathing in Rome was a communal activity. While the extremely wealthy could
afford bathing facilities in their homes, most people bathed in the communal baths
(thermae).

swimming.

- In 1896 the Olympic Games were held in Greece in the city of Athens. Swimming was included
and there were four swimming contests held.The 4000 m event was the longest swimming
competition event ever held in the history of swimming. The backstroke was used in the
Olympics in the sport of water polo, for the first time.

1. What is the importance of water safety? Why is it Important to be Safe
in the water?
- A child or weak swimmer can drown in the time it takes to reply to a text, check a fishing line
or apply sunscreen. Death and injury from drownings happen every day in home pools and hot
tubs, at the beach or in oceans, lakes, rivers and streams, bathtubs, and even buckets.

water?
- The key difference between pool and open water swimming is the water's
temperature. Whereas you can turn up to the pool on any day of the year in
all weathers and get the same conditions, the same cannot be said for
open water. This means that you need to be prepared with the right gear.

- I learned about the uses and importance of swimming equipment
and the prof way how to swim it is important us to know about this
