I. BACKGROUND
The role of team work in institutions has been identified as being critical. Good
organizational performance can be attributed to the quality and nature of the team and
the interaction amongst team members. It is therefore imperative that institutions are
seen to function and perform their duties as effectively and efficiently as possible. Team
cohesion, synergy and a shared vision are a requirement for any institution to succeed.
As a result the need to instill such is important. Team building activities have been
identified as one sure way of enhancing effectiveness of a group/team whether a board,
senior management or staff in an organization since institutions require teams whenever
producing the desired outcome depends on integrating diverse skills, interests and
efforts.
II. OBJECTIVES
The most effective way to improve employee connection is to engage it and experience
its value through a series of activities.
1. Employees will relax and unwind.
2. Build team cohesion as this may directly impact their productivity and project
collaboration.
3. Giving each individual an equal opportunity to participate in non-work-related,
tension-free activities that boost their confidence and self discipline, which
reflects in their work.
4. Discovering one another's strengths and weaknesses, which is beneficial for
improving their performance.
5. Point out the need for effective utilization of resources by building synergy.
6. Enhance planning and problem-solving skills.
7. Appreciate the value of complementary roles played by each team member.
8. Leaders would be able to evaluate and improve their colleagues' collaboration
skills.
9. Enhance employees’ satisfaction, loyalty, and creativity.
10. Understand each other’s viewpoints and preference, and learn to respect the
diversities.
