Based on the intensity, needs are
further divided into:

Kinds of Primary Needs, the main basic needs

Secondary Needs, not basic needs,
but we still need them, such as means

Needs of communication, means of

Tertiary needs, the need for luxury

to increase self-esteem, such as
sports cars, jewelry, diamonds, and

Scarcity of
Growing
Economic
Resources

In economics, resource scarcity is described when

the needs of society and individuals are unlimited
while the means to fulfill them are limited.
Quoting Wasrob Nasruddin's explanation in the Module published by UT, the scarcity of
resources has the consequence that humans must obtain resources at sacrifice, generally
15 nowadays by buying.
Scarcity is a major problem that is of concern to economics. Because, the available
resources are not enough to fulfill human desires. This scarcity requires humans to
determine what goods/services should be produced, the amount and how they are
distributed to other members of society. Thus, scarcity demands choices that trigger
consequences on sacrifice.

While referring to the review in the Economics Module published by the Ministry of
Education and Culture, there are 4 types of scarcity of economic resources.
The four types are scarcity of natural resources, scarcity of human resources, scarcity of
capital resources, and scarcity of entrepreneurial resources. All these resources must be
used wisely so that the problem of scarcity can be resolved.
On the other hand, although scarcity is inherent in human life, this phenomenon occurs due
to causes. There are a number of factors identified in economics as the cause of resource
scarcity.
