STRENGTHS

QUANTITATIVE
IT IS OBJECTIVE-since it is objective and provides numeral data, it can’t easily misinterpreted and bias can be avoided.

-so Hindi sya pwedeng hulaan dahil kung ano talaga yung result yun na talaga.

USES STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES-using statistical techniques help to easily analyse the data and to easily understand
the big numbers of important datas.

-so para mas madaling ma interpret ang result laluna kapag complicated specially kapag Malaki ang population this
statistical techniques like the measure of central tendency and correlation will help us to interpret the results

QUICK AND EASY ANALYSIS-data in quantitative research can be analysed in a quick and easy away.
So with the use of statistically valid random models finding can be generalized to the population about which
information is necessary

-so quantitative experiments filter out external factors

STUDIES ARE REPLICABLE-this research can be replicated but with different areas of concern and location, Dimension
can be also an additive factor to improve the previous research.

-Quantitative can be repeated to verify findings in another setting thus reinforcing validly of the result for the seek of
validation research can be repeated

VALID AND RELIABLE-because of many numbers of samples used in quantitative research, the result of the study are
more trustworthy and more acceptable.

-Mas maraming tao mas reliable and valid.

QUALITATIVE
COMPLEMENTS QUANTITATIVE DATA-interview and observations are the common instruments used in the conduct
of a qualitative study, such instruments can provide qualitative data that can be utilized as a support for any quantitative
data appearing in a study, hence are more reliable result will be ensured.

PROVIDES MORE DETAILED INFO TO EXPLAIN COMPEX ISSUES- since this type of research study requires the
researcher to immerse himself or herself in the phenomenon, under investigation direct experiences can be acquired
similarly considering information rich participant, as well as utilizing interview and observation as qualitative research
instruments may unable the researcher to gather more accurate data needed in explaining a complex phenomenon.

GENERATE NEW IDEAS-you may discover potential problems and opportunity as a result to those open ended answer
that you haven’t considered.
-maari kang maka tuklas ng mga potensyal na problema o paagkakataon bilang resulta sa mga bukas na sagot na hindi
mo pa naisip o napag isipan.

COST EFFICIENT-small numbers of participants is usually considered in a qualitative research, hence less resources will
be needed to accomplish this studies, likewise interview schedule and observation checklist as qualitative research tools
demand the researcher to spend less resources unlike questionnaires as a primary tool utilize in quantitative research.

IT IS ALSO DETERMINES POSSIBLE CAUSES OF A PARTICULAR EVENT IN ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE AS THAT GIVEN BY THE
QUANTITATIVE ALSO IT CAN BE EFFECTIVE IN EXPLORING SENSITIVE ISSUES.
AS YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE MANY STRENGHTS OF QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE
RESEARCH THAT IS REALLY HELPFUL TO OUR STUDY, HOWEVER IT ALSO HAVE WEAKNESSES
THAT GIVES LIMITATION TO OUR STUDY

WEAKNESSES

QUANTITATIVE
IT REQUIRES A LARGE NUMBER OF RESPONDENTS-mean we need more effort in finding more respondents
because the larger sample size the more or better the statistical finding are.
-So time consuming ren dahil marami kang e gagather na data so isa mo silang kakausapin isa isa mo silang pupuntahan
isa isa mo silang papaliwanagan so mahabang panahon ang ilalaan mo ditto,

IT IS COSTLY-Due to very large sample, the expenses will be greater in reaching out to these people in reproducing the
questionnaires.

CONTEXTUAL FACTORS ARE USUALLY IGNORED-not like qualitative research it is straight forward, there is no need
to elaborate or have sharing of thoughts for further information.
-since numerical yung quantitative kung ano yung result yun na di gaya ng sa qualitative na mas Malaki o malawak na
naipapaliwanag ang mga findings.

A LOT OF INFO IS DIFFICULT TO GATHER-sensitive variables like domestic violence and premarital sex is complicated
to study if you used quantitative research.

QUALITATIVE
CANNOT GENERALIZED THE FINDINGS TO THE STUDY POPULATION-the used of small numbers of participants in
qualitative research may result in limited responses, thus finding of the study might not be possibly generalized to a
larger population, replication of the study is often suggested.

MORE DIFFICULT TO ANALYZED-unlike quantitative research which deals with pneumatic data and can be interpreted
through statistical formula qualitative research presents non-pneumatic data which are all based on the subjective
responses of their participants and respondents.

-if data are not critically analysed and carefully interpreted results may become bias and even less credible.
-it may influence the researcher’s perspective.
-often makes make qualitative researched unreliable because of uncontrolled factors that affect the data.

TIME CONSUMING-though qualitative research utilizes a small numbers of participant this however demands the
researcher to spend more time in dealing and engaging with them, similarly the analysis and interpretation phase of
study also requires the researcher to take more time in observing the emerging patterns and themes derived from
participants data.

-Analysis of data takes longer than quantitative data.

RESEARCHER PRESENSE MAY AFFECT OR CAN AFFECT THE RESPONDENTS RESPONSES -unlike in quantitative
research that answering only paper or questionnaire, but the researcher presses because during the gathering of
information researcher gonna be engaging info focus group discussion, interview, key informants, response so
sometimes it affects the respondents response unlike if there’s no research but they’re only answering a paper.
