Introduction

You can use a custom view to save specific display settings (such as hidden rows and

columns, cell selections, filter settings, and window settings) and print settings (such as page

settings, margins, headers and footers, and sheet settings) for a worksheet so that you can quickly

apply these settings to that worksheet when needed. You can also include a specific print area in

a custom view.

1. Choose any data of your choice which contains not less than 50 observations and

demonstrate the following functions.

1. Proper

2. Substitute

3. Trim

4. Lower and Upper

5. Left, Mid and Right

6. If and Ifs

2. Use a numerical variable from your data and calculate the percentage corresponding to

each cell in the column. Use this number and its percentage to create another column in

the format n(%).


3. Split name given in one column, into three different columns viz.,first name, middle

name and last name.

4. Create a column to enter data with pre-assigned drop down menu.

Conclusion

Therefore, one conclude that use a custom view to save specific display settings (such as
