A PROJECT BY THE MATHEMATICS SOCIETIES OF

ROYAL COLLEGE AND LADIES' COLLEGE


The Mathematics society of Royal College and Ladies’ College presents
‘Quintic’, an inter-school mathematical competition organized with the
motive of providing an opportunity for students to showcase their
mathematical skills and knowledge in a competitive setting.

The competition will comprise of 4 major categories according to the


grades of the school students as shown below.

1. Grade 6-7
2. Grade 8-9
3. Grade 10-11
4. Grade 12-13.

Only 2 students will be allowed to enter per age group per school.
Overall 8 students ( 2x 4 age groups) can participate from one school.

The competition will be comprise of 2 rounds. The first round will be held
online and the final round will be held physically. The participants who
qualify from the first round will proceed to the final round. 3 winners will
be chosen from each category after the conclusion of the final round and
will be presented with their awards at the awards ceremony.

Finer details of the phases of the competition is given below.

** Please note that times and dates may change. Competitors will be
informed of these changes via the WhatsApp groups they are required to
join after registration.

First Round Details

• Date: - 12th of November


• Time: - Between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• Venue/Platform: - Online Platform (Zoom)

Participants will be required to join a zoom meeting with their videos on


and complete the MCQ math questions on the online form. The times,
zoom and form links and other related information will be sent on the
respective WhatsApp groups. Workings need to be done on rough sheets.
(These rough sheets don't need to be uploaded)

Final Round Details

Date: -19th of November


Time: - Between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
Venue: - Royal College Premises

The final round will test the competitors mathematical knowledge and
presentation skills.
10 mathematical topics will be given prior to the final round to those
who qualified from Round 1.
The one topic they need to present out of the 10 will be given on the
day of the final round itself. Therefore the competitors have to be
ready to present any of the 10 topics before the final round.
The participants may use the smart board and white board to explain
the given topic.
