ACTIVITY TITLE: Case Analysis
CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

Conflict Identification
In the case of Barangay Maligalig, they are currently facing a threat to their youth's welfare; there
are uncontrollable situations in their market, and their sellers express their concerns. Some
teenagers have been seen at the market using solvents and drugs and smoking and consuming
alcoholic beverages, which are both forbidden for minors under the age of 18. These minors
chose the market as their primary location for unlawful activities. Another issue is that these
children tend to recruit others, and if they don't, those who refuse to join them are beaten. As a
result, they utilize a cheap but dangerous type of solvent called glue to get high, and they've
been doing so for a long time. Like any other form of solvent, this can cause severe
health problems such as respiratory problems and abusing alcohol, leading to kidney failure.
Because our body cannot take enough oxygen, or worse, it can put you into a coma
Plan of Action
Recreational activities must be conducted in Barangay Maligalig, and the youth in the region
must be persuaded to engage actively in the events that will be held. As a result, rapport and
friendship will be sculpted inside the self of these young people, allowing them to better
understand and relate to one another. If this occurs, they will understand how to care for one
another and will act as a brother's keeper on their own.
Reflection
Malnutrition among children is a significant public health concern in the Philippines.
Long-term malnutrition has lasting impacts on a child's physical and cognitive development,
trapping families for the rest of their lives in a cycle of poor health and poverty. Both national and
municipal governments should seriously give short- and long-term solutions to the malnutrition
problem. The Barangay Council must ensure that the youths in their barangay are not actively
involved in activities that could endanger them. We must understand that they will be the land's
hope and that, beginning now, they must be extremely cautious in their activities to be a source
of hope and light for others indeed. We, the youth, must also make the world a better place. We
must assist ourselves and the country in producing productive citizens who will undoubtedly
benefit the country.
