Steps
1) Try to solve the equation using factorization method.
2) If the factorization doesn’t work with the equation, use the quadratic
formula.
a) Make sure that the equation is written in the form a x 2 +bx+ c=0
b) Get out the values of a, b and c
c) Substitute the values of a, b, c in the formula and get the value(s) of x.

3) 2 x2 +10 x +8=0
4) 4 x2 +3 x=7

5) −2 x2 =−4 x −7
6) 7 x 2+ 1=−8 x
x=−17,−1
