Analysis on the Lesson taught by the Teacher

Upon observing the demonstration teaching video, I realized that the lesson about the
prepositions and prepositional phrase is very essential to children. This lesson will help
them become aware of the use of the prepositions and prepositional phrase in making
sentences or phrases. It is crucial for children to know these things especially when they
communicate with others. During the storytelling part, I am entertained. It sparked my
interest and caught my attention. Even during the discussion, the questions given by the
teacher is simulating and engaged me to participate in the teaching-learning process.
As the lesson develops, the teacher incorporated pictures, visual presentations, actions
and examples for pupils to better understand it. Imposing a variety of questions made
the pupils collaborate and participate while developing them to think critically at young
age. One drawback is that, the teacher should be more engaging to suit the pupils
needs considering that children have a short span of attention. More engagement is
needed when the teacher makes the lesson or discussion to make it livelier or
cooperative.

My Reflection on the Lesson

Truly, learning is within our hands, minds and heart. It is with a loving heart that a
teacher should fulfill his or her duty to embark something unto his or her pupils. With
this observation, my takeaway in this video is that positively, the strategies and
techniques or the pedagogy that I have learned while watching Ma’am Marife will surely
be used by the time that I myself will teach either online or face to face class. By
preparing the lesson well, by doing student-centered approach and making the class
constructive, learning will surely take place.

Despite of the circumstance brought by the pandemic, the willingness to teach is still
evident. With that, I realized my purpose of pursuing education. To teach and touch
lives. Nothing should hinder me from continuing as changes in lives of children will be
forfeited.

In addition to all of the things mentioned, new normal is difficult. Seeing the pupils
physically is not allowed. Still, I learned from the demonstration teaching that a teacher
should be equipped with a variety of strategies and techniques in order for the teaching-
learning process to foster, to meet the pupils’ needs and be able to meet the objectives
knowing that it is online and the situation is much more difficult to handle. As a future
teacher, I myself should be willing to improve and learn for me to become an efficient
teacher in the future.
