DEVELOPMENT APPRAISAL (RES551)

Assignment Objective:
To assess students’ understanding and ability to conduct a feasibility study and prepare
a property development proposal. This specific task is related to Course Learning
Outcome (CLO) 2 which is to assess the practical skills attribute in MQF 2 Learning
Outcome Domain. This assignment also to determine the attainment level of students for
Learning Outcome Domain (LOD4) interpersonal skill.
The Task:
As a property development executive, you have been assigned by the top management
to search a potential land that could be DEVELOPED INTO A HIGHER AND BETTER
USE.
The development location that the investor is flexible. It depends on the locality of the
group of students located (pandemic COVID19 situation).
As such, your team is required to prepare a thorough feasibility study of the proposed
development.

Scope of work:
Important Notes:
1. This project is a team work. Each team shall consist of 4-5 students only.
2. All data and costing used must be realistic and current; sources of data must be
stated in the report/appendices.
3. The proposal and video shall be submitted not later than 11th July 2022 (before 5.00
pm). Penalty will be imposed for late submission.
4. Students will present the proposal during a final presentation session to be held
online on 12 & 14 July 2022.
5. Proposals must be properly and professionally presented.
6. Each group must submit a report in hard copy (in A4 size, portrait set-up); the
financial feasibility shall also be made available in soft copy in excel format.
7. Students are strictly warned against plagiarisms failing which students shall be
deemed to have failed the project.
8. This assignment will carry 30% of the total mark for RES551; 25% will come from the
report, and 5% from the presentation
