Indore name SPARK MINDA of ASHOK MINDA GROUP corporation plant. We would like to
express our gratitude to our director mam Dr. Yogeshwari Pathak, coordinator prof. Umeng
Mehta sir for granting our request and arranging such informative industrial visit, which actually
helped us to understand the operation of plant.

We would also like to thank Mr. Ashok Minda-Chairman & Group CEO of Spark Minda,
Ashok Minda Group & Director of Spark Minda Foundation - Minda SAI. LTD Pithampur &
Production Manager For the time and effort he spent on each of us explaining all the aspects of
factory working, level of functioning carried out. We would also like to thank him for clearing

INTRODUCTION
Minda Corporation Ltd was incorporated in the year 1985 with the name Minda Switch Auto
Private Limited for manufacture of Ignition Switches for Indian Automotive Industry and is the
flagship company of Spark Minda Ashok Minda Group which was part of erstwhile Minda
Group. The Company has 28 manufacturing facilities located across various parts of India
including Maharashtra National Capital Region Tamil Nadu Uttarakhand Karnataka and Madhya
Pradesh and 6 global manufacturing facilities in Germany Czech Republic Poland Mexico
Indonesia and Vietnam. In addition it has a design office located in Japan.Minda Corporation Ltd
is one of the largest suppliers of 2 wheeler 3 wheeler and Off Road vehicles Electronic &
Mechanical Security System. The company is a diversified company with a product portfolio
encompassing from Mechanical & Electronic Security System Door System Electronic
Controllers for Electric Vehicles Plastic Interiors and for Auto OEM's across the Globe. The
company also manufactures Die Casting Parts and high-class Surface Finishing parts for auto
and consumer durable industry. They supply their products to Indian OEM's and export about
20% of their products to USA UK Europe & South East Asia and ASEAN countries. The
company is headquartered at Noida.The company is the only company in India to have their
own- patented Magnetic Shutter for 2- wheeler application. They design & manufacture
Immobilizers for 2 wheel vehicle applications and also has patent for Immobilizer application for
vehicles operating with drained or no battery condition. They are also the first company in India
to develop a controller for E Bikes. The company has a state of the art Surface Finishing
Division which is capable of plating Nickel Chrome Copper Brass Electrophoretic Lacquering
Powder & Wet painting facility to give any type of finish to their products. They have their Die
Casting Division which develops Aluminium & Zinc Die Cast parts not only for Captive
consumption but also for other Tier 1 & OEM customers in India and abroad. In the year 1996
the company joined hands with Huf Hulsbeck Furst GmbH & Co. KG Germany and became a
Joint Venture Company known as Minda Huf Ltd. During the year 2003-04 the company
introduced Electronic Security System to various OEM's and launched their products for Tata

Motors Mahindra & Mahindra Hyundai and Hero Honda. During the year 2006-07 the company
terminated the joint venture agreement with Huf Hulsbeck & Furst GmbH & Co. KG Germany
with effect from October 28 2006. Accordingly the name of the company was changed from
Minda Huf Ltd to Minda Corporation Ltd with effect from March 28 2007.In the year 2007 the
company diversified into manufacturing of Door System in order to cater to the Indian OEM's
expectation of European technology with technical assistance from Castellon SA of Spain. In
April 22 2007 the company acquired 100% ownership of KTSN Kunststoffechnik Sachsen
GmbH & Co. KG in Germany a limited liability partnership a major OEM's such as Volkswagen
Daimler BMW. During the year 2007-08 the company entered the business transfer agreement
with Minda Sons (Partnership Firm) and acquired the whole undertaking of Minda Sons situated
in Pant Nagar Uttarakhand as going concern with effect from February 1 2008. At the end of the
year the Company has 100% ownership in its subsidiaries Minda Europe Minda SAI Minda
Automotive Solutions Minda Management and Minda KTSN.During. During the year 2015 the
Company set up a new plant in Czech Republic under Minda KTSN Germany.

Manufacturing Facilities
Along with producing world class products, the manufacturing is geared towards innovation,
reduction of costs & overheads to offer value for money solutions.
The company operates with five State-of-the-Art plants, at Greater Noida, Murbad (Mumbai),
Kakkalur (Chennai), Pithampur (Indore) and Pune.
With sound foundation for manufacturing components, applicators, assembly & circuit checking
boards & moulding tools in-house, Interior Plastic Division produces harnesses to meet OEM's
requirements.

CONLCLUSION
The experience of this tour was really fantastic and unforgettable. it was a reverberating
experience which cherished all of us.

Students got valuable information from this industrial tour and they guided us how to
stand in the corporate world in the era of competition. We got to learn a lot more things
from this tour. The industrial visit gives a lot of information about various aspects of
production, marketing packaging as well as operation of the company. We get to learn
things which we never had learned from our academics. The culture of organization, office
etiquettes and the unique management model gives a deep insight about the industry and
definitely it will pave my way to success. During the visit I got the opportunity to get
familiar with different products of ( SPARK MINDA) Minda SAI Ltd and how they have
reached what they are today.

OBSERVATION AND LEARNINGS
I observed and learned as to how theatrical concepts are put into action, thereby aiding
practical learning. I was exposed to real working environment and shown how things are
done in SPARK MINDA Minda SAI Ltd for 2 wheelers, cars and commercials vehicles .
Auto parts From the details about the management to the targets they achieve, everything
was covered in the visit. The observations were as follows-

1. I got to understand how manufacturers of Security Systems, Wiring Harnesses,


Couplers & Terminals, Instrument Clusters, Sensors, Die Casting, Interiors, Keys &
Key Duplicating Machines, that caters to all major two, three, four wheeler &
offroad vehicles manufacturer in India & around world.
2. Gained the practical knowledge of how real machines and methodologies works in a
plant or a factory.
3. We all were curious about what kind of work they would be doing after entering the
plant unit. Through the industry visit, we were able to clarify the doubts and silence
our curiosities.
4. I communicated with various professionals and people of the organization to get a
clear idea of their job.
