A Christmas Carol

Last week I went to see a play called ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Manoel
Theatre in Valletta. It was the first show I saw in a long time because of Covid.
The play was a story about a grumpy old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who
didn’t like Christmas. Later in the play, he meets three ghosts who try to
help him to become a better man.
This particular production consisted of four actors, one of them played Scrooge
and the other three played multiple roles throughout the show. They all
were very good, the man who played Scrooge elaborating the
experience with great physical movements, and the latter very fast and
skilled, seeing as they had to change in and out of costumes so many
times, putting on different personalities and voices for each character. I
could hear every word and understood the story well.
I personally went to watch the show on Friday 18 th December, but the
production had shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, three
shows on both days of the weekends.
Overall, I think I enjoyed the show that I watched and hope to see more like it
in the future.
