Egypt ACI Shipper Guide Purpose

The purpose of this guide is to provide guidance to shippers, forwarders, and alliances to
transmit the required information to carriers for imports to Egypt via INTTRA shipping
instructions. It is the responsibility of the shippers/forwarders to provide accurate
information to carriers and INTTRA will not fail any transaction when the required
information is missing.

Egypt Advance Cargo Information (ACI) Regulation

Advance Cargo Information (ACI) is a new customs system which requires the Egyptian
importers to declare full information about the goods shipped to Egypt at least 48 hours
before actual shipping from the exporting country.

When the Egyptian Authorities accept the advance cargo information, a unique ACID
Number is issued for each ACI request.
According to the ACI procedures, Egyptian importers need to instruct their exporters to
include the following data—for their carriers—in their shipping instructions:
Data Required Description
ACID Number A 19 digit number that uniquely identifies the ACI shipment. For
example: 4988470982020120017
Egyptian Importer A 9 digit number, issued by the Egyptian Tax Authority that
VAT Number uniquely identifies all companies registered in Egypt.
Exporter An alphanumeric string with the following information:
Registration
• Two-letter code (ISO-3166-1) representing the country where
Number
the exporter (the shipper) is registered
• Two digits identifying the type of registration number (01 -
Company Registry, 02-VAT)
• The exporter registration number issued by the relevant
authority. For example: DE-02-1208614364
Exporter Two-letter code (ISO-3166-1) representing the country where the
Registration exporter (the shipper) is registered.
