ASSEMBLY

1. Find the center of the front of the hat and mark it. Stuff the snout and sew it
to the front of the hat 2 rows up from the trim round. This leaves room to
sew on the mouth piece.

2. Sew the tongue to the top of the mouth piece

3. Sew the mouth piece centered on the hat under the snout

4. Sew the pupils to the Eyes and then sew the eyes onto the hat on either side
of the snout in desired position. You can add a white mark to the pupil if
desired.

5. Sew the Nose Strip to the top of the snout. Line the wide end up with the
white section of the snout and center the strip with the skinny end between
the eyes.

6. Sew the nose with the wide side to the top of the snout aligned with the nose
strip. Thin point should meet center of the white snout area.

7. Sew the eyebrows on above the eyes. Sew chain side down so that the
eyebrow stands up.

8. Sew the ears to the hat in desired position

9. With Lt. Raspberry Pink, make three dots on front of snout on either side

10. With black, cut 4 – 4” strands. Using two strands for each side, latch hook
two strands to either side of snout to create the whiskers. Trim do desired
length.

TIES

Cut 8 - 36” strands of main color

Cut 8 – 36” strands of trim color

Use 4 strands of each color for each earflap. Fold the strands in half forming a
loop at the top.

Slip the crochet hook into the bottom of the earflap. Pull the loop through the
earflap.

Take the strands and pull them through the loop and pull tight to secure.

Divide the strands into 4 equal sections of 4 strands each alternating colors and
braid.

You will braid the strands just like a three way braid. You just have a 4 th group.
Start with the far right color.

In this example the white group on the far right. Bring the white group over the
top of the red group to its left.

Next take the second white group and bring it over the first white group

Finally, bring the red group on the far left under the first white group which is now
in position 3.

Doing the four way braid with alternating colors generates the striping pattern. If
you do not want the striping pattern then divide per your liking and braid normally.

Pull the first group tight and then repeat the steps. This time it is the red group on
the far right. Bring it over the white group to the left of it.

Next bring the second red group in 3rd position over the red group in second
position

Then to finish off this row, take the white group in 4th position and bring it under
the red group in 3rd position and tighten up.

Repeat the over, under, over, under technique all the way down the tie. When you
get to the bottom of the tie, make a slip knot to secure the braid.

Repeat for the second earflap. Compare the braids to each other and adjust slip
knots as needed and trim ends even.
