  FALL PREVENTION

All opening into or through which a person may fall

8 shall be covered or guarded by an effective barrier
to prevent falls.

Scaffold or structures shall be provided with guard

9 rails to work at a height of 1.8 meters (6 feet) or      
greater from the ground level.

If scaffold or structure cannot be provided with

guard rails then Full body Safety harness with
10      
double lanyard shall be worn by personnel working
at height.

All the times during use, the safety harness shall be

11 attached to an anchorage or to a life line securely      
attached to one or more points to an anchorage.

Anchorage points of the life line shall in no case be

lower than the level of his working position.

  LADDER

13 The ladder base shall be firm and level surface.      

Ladder shall be free from defects and no missing of

rungs.

The ladder shall rise to a height of 1.1 mtr above the

15      
landing platform.

Rungs or step of portable ladder shall be

16 corrugated, knurled, dimpled, coated with skid      
resisting material or treated to minimize slipping.

  SCAFFOLDING 

Scaffolding shall be inspected and signed. "Ready for

17      
use" tag shall be installed on the ladder.

Scaffolding tubes and accessories shall be free from

18 defects. Any broken, bent, excessively rusted or      
altered materials shall not be used.

Scaffolding built on the firm soil shall have base

19 plate, plywood pads or planking under the      
supporting legs.

Guard rails and Toe board shall be installed for work

20      
at height more than 1.8 meter.
