Reflection
- enables turning back or
bouncing back of light.

• As an object around us is seen

because of the presence of light,
when light is reflected on a barrier
that is capable of bouncing back
light, this barrier creates an image
that is seen almost exactly the
same as the object.
Mirrors
- are usually materials made
of glass or metal that has shiny
and smooth surface that enables
regular reflection.
Classifications of Mirrors:

• Plane mirror
• Curved mirror
Plane mirror
- a flat surfaced mirror.

• When you look directly into a

plane mirror, you will see the
reflected images of yourself
and objects around you.
Curved mirror
- a curved surface.

Two Types:
1. Convex mirror
2. Concave mirror
Convex mirror
- inward side.
- also known as diverging mirror.
- is a curved mirror in which the reflective
surface bulges towards the light source.

Concave mirror
- outward side.
- also known as converging mirror.
- has a reflecting surface that is recessed
inward (away from the incident light).
• When an object is reflected in a mirror then created
object seen by our eyes is called image.

Kinds:
• Virtual image
- it appears to be located behind the mirror.
• Real image
- are those image that can be projected.

 Multiple Reflection
• When two plane mirrors
are situated in front of
each other or at a given
angle, multiple images
can be formed.
Depending on the angle
created by the two mirror,
number of images vary.
