On board ships the range ust be bolted to the deck. When two or more ranges are grouped together, the gap between them must be covered with junction strips. Electrical connection: ‘There is a cable entry for power supply in the bottom of the oven. The cable can also be inserted wut in the rear panel. ‘The connection terminals inside the range are available when the is removed by unscrewing the junction strips. Caution: ‘The insulation material in oven and D-top heating elements is Magnesiumoxide, a very hygroscopic material that might absorb moisture resulting from changes in temperature and humidity during Storage and transpostaton, In some cases this may reduce the insulation resistance in the element down to the preset limits of eventual insulation monitoring systems We therefore recommend that an insulation resistance testis performed for all loading positions with an insulation tester before the appliance is connected to the net. Ifthe insulation resistance is to low, it will be necessary to "dry out” the element, which is done by switching the element to the Lowest loading position and leave it running for 6 - 24 hours, and thereafter carrying out a new insulation test. ‘The above circumstances can also occur if an element has been out of use for & long period of time. Dismounting of range for transportation through narrow doors and openings: ‘Normally transport of M31 and 31 series of ranges require door-opering space of atleast 870mm. However, by dismounting the legs the range can be transported edgewise through an approximately ‘740mm wide opening, If the cooking tops are dismounted too is it possible to transport the range edgewise through an approximately 700mm wide opening. Dismounting of guard rail 1. Unscrew the setsorews 2, Remove the rails 3. Unscrew the rail holders Dismounting of rolling bars: 1. Remove the rolling bars 2. By dismounting the cooking tops a considerable ‘weight reduction is achieved too. if both cooking tops and legs are to be dismounted the cooking tops ought to be dismounted before the legs. NOTE! Dismounting and mounting of cooking tops can only be executed by authorised personnel, Enclosed wiring diagram must be used. Dismounting of cooking top: 1. Carry out point 1-4 as described for dismounting of legs 2. Dismounting of cooking top type A and B: 2.1, Unscrew the fastening screw(s) in centre of the cooking plate 2.2. Remove the cooking top 4, Remove the traverse placed at the middle of the range. ‘When the range is to be mounted again the legs have to ‘be mounted first. After that the cooking tops can be mounted (if they have been dismounted) The last parts to be mounted are the support bars and the rail, ifthe range is equipped with this, The sequence of mounting is the opposite of the sequence for dismounting, Beha-Hedo Industrier A/S P.O Box 2704, N-3702 Skien, Norway Tel: +47 3593 2000 Fax: +47 3593 2001 e-mail: bebachedo@beha-hedo.com BEHA petesnoia Se aoe ied INDUSTRIER AS DIRECTIONS FOR USE EQUIPMENT TYPE: BEHA RANGE MODEL: 34/M34 Correct handling and thorough cleaning after use will ensure a trouble-free and long-lasting life of the BEHA cooking range. Before using the applianc Before using the range the first time it has to be cleaned thoroughly. Its especially important to clean the oven, ‘When using the appliance for the first time, some of the components will, due to the heat, develop some smoke and smell. Before operating the appliance, we therefor recommend the following procedure: First set all the switches on step 1 and the thermostat on 150°C for 3 hours, then the ‘oven-switches on full loading and the thermostat on 300°C for 2 hours. This will prevent unpleasant smell during the first time of operation, ‘Before using the oven for the first time, the oven accessories should be given a “fatburn’, Place the accessories in the oven with switches on position 3 and thermostat on 300°C for approximately 2 hours. The roasting oven is made of stainless stee! plating, This is shiny and reflects heat. During tho first period of use problems can occur during roasting. This is especially a problem for light baking until the oven has obtained a dark surface (seasoning), Cooking utensils and cookirig plates: ‘The cooking utensils should have a thick, flat and thoroughly cleaned bottom and be of a size to. match the cooking plate. Start boiling on position 3, and then switch down to position 1, Never Ieave a cooking plate on position 3 without a utensil! Prevent chock cooling of very hot plates. Minimise the spilling of water ‘on the plates, ‘Keep your cooking plates well cleaned and rub them periodical with vegetable oil Power consumption and heat control: Alll the switches are three-position switches. The positions represents respectively 1/4 - 1/2- 1/1 of the power. ‘The circular cooking plates are each controlled by one switch. The rectangular has two switches, each controlling half the total loading, Beha-Hedo Industrier A/S. The tablehalf has two elements, each of 2500 W, and is controlled by two switches. Oven: ‘The oven is controlled by two switches. One controlling the top heat, the other controlling the bottom heat, The total load of the oven is 4400 W, The temperature can be controlled with the thermostat from 75°C to 300°C (167 - 572°). “The thermostat protects the oven against overheating, Remember that both switches and thermostat have to be turned on to heat the elements. Recommended procedure for using the oven: During warming up, set switch to position 2 and thermostat to desired temperature, This will ensure stabilizing of tho oven, Asit takes time for everything to be heated throughout, it should be allowed to ‘warm up at least I hour before use. ‘The food should be put in the oven while the thermostat is activated. ‘Tray and pan should be placed on lowest position in oven during baking, ‘Tray and pan must be pushed well in before closing the door. Switches at position 2 instead of position 3 keeps the heating elements connected for a longer period of time, This will give a more even heat distribution during roasting. This should especially be used for lighter baking, Cleaning: Keep the range clean, Wipe off spilled food and remove baked grease from top of range. After cleaning the accessories and range, wipe dry and leave door open for airing, preferably with switches ‘on low (position 1). ‘The oven shelves und frying pan are made of good steel, but must be guarded against corrosion until use has provided a protective "coat" of bumt-in grease. Oven accessories of stainless steel can be supplied on special order, Spots of steam and fat ought to be removed immediately with a moist cloth (soapy water). Else it will be difficult to remove the spots from the range. From time to time, give the whole ange a wipe over with oiled or greased cloth; top, surface units, oven, oven accessories and all chrome-plated parts, Beha-Hedo Industrier A/S P.0 Box 2704, N-3702 Skien, Norway Tel: +47 3593 2000 Fax: +47 3593 2001 e-mail: bba-hedo@beha-hedo.com BEA on fi Harsch AS DIRECTIONS FOR SERVICE EQUIPMENT TYPE: BEHA RANGE MODEL: 34/M31 Make certain that the main circuit is disconnected before any service work is started.
