EVALUATION ON THE LEARNING DESIGN IN THE NEW NORMAL

(SELF LEARNING MODULES IN MATHEMATICS GRADE FIVE)

I. Introduction:

Covid-19 has brought many effects in the society as a whole. Every aspect has
suffered to survive in the pandemic. Education, as the biggest society in the country
has adversely affected in the disease. It needs schools to be shut down, children
need to stay at home and not going to school for security.

To fight against global pandemic, the Department of Education has design new
learning program to answer the call to continuing education. The learning
continuity plan aims to design different learning modalities which suits to
communities of students. It includes radio and television classes, online education,
and offline modality which include the development of self learning module.

II. Evaluation of the New learning program:

The learning continuity program of the Department of Education is the newly

designed and adapted in all the public schools in the entire country. It produces Self-
 Learning module as part of the program for the schools who can’t afford to go
online or use a radio and television as a modality to learning.

To evaluate its effectiveness, we will try to get into the Mathematics grade Five
module Quarter 3 – Module 2: Base, Percentage and Rate.

III. Recommendations for improvement:

a. The pretest should be varied when it comes to usage of arts of questioning. I
seems that from number 1 to 10, items re monotonous and has no variation.
b. The module should always let the pupils to be involved in the activity since it is a
self-learning module
c.The module should provide enough knowledge on how to process their learning so
they can get the right answers on the assessment

IV. Conclusion:
The goal of the module is to let the students learn at their own pace. We are hoping
that students earnestly answers all the modules:
