INTRODUCTION
Microsoft word is a word processor software
developed by Microsoft in 1983. It is the most
commonly used word processor software. It is
used to create professional-quality documents,
letters, reports, resumes, etc., and also allows
you to edit or modify your new or existing
document.
Formatting Text

Formatting text in Microsoft Word involves tasks

like bolding the text, italicizing it, and
changing the font and size. The commands to
perform all of these formatting tasks are found
on the Home tab in the Font group. Select your
text and then click on the required formatting
button to see the effects.

Format Painter
The Format Painter tool is used to copy and
paste character and paragraph formats to
existing text. This tool, used in conjunction
with styles, can make organizing and
reformatting documents easier and more
efficient.

Find and replace

Find and Replace helps you to find words or

formats in a document and can let you
replace all instances of a word or format.
This is particularly handy in long documents. To
use Find and Replace, use the shortcut Ctrl + H
or navigate to Editing in the Home tab of the
ribbon, then choose to replace.

Orientation

The direction for printing or displaying the

document in Word, but one does not have to
be the same for the entire document. Usually,
the whole article, paper, or report is printed in
the Portrait mode, but for a page with a big
table, it is more convenient to use the
Landscape mode.

Margin

A margin is a space between a document's

contents and the edges of the page. Word's
default margins are 1 inch on each side of the
page, but you can change the margins to
accommodate the needs of your document.

The Undo command reverses the previous
action you have applied. The Redo
command reapplies the last action reversed
by the Undo command. You can reverse
the previous action just by clicking the Undo
button from the quick access toolbar. You
can reapply the last reversed action just by
clicking on the Redo button from the quick
access toolbar.

document as you type. It displays spelling
errors with a red wavy underline When you
right-click on the red underlined text, MS
Word displays the choices for correcting the
possible misspelling.

Printing A Word Document

When a document is ready, it can be
printed using a printer. Before you print the
document, you need to preview the
document before it is printed. The

printed.
