Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Phase 3 Characterize the Logistics Network
using a Reference Model.

1. Activity Description
Type of Activity: Collaborative
Evaluation Moment: Intermediate Unit 2
Highest Activity Score: 125 points
The activity starts on: Monday, The activity ends on: Thursday, January
December 5, 2022 12, 2023
With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Identify Supply Chain Management and Logistics processes and its activities
establishing good practices, improvement opportunities and its impact into the logistics
network using diagnosis tools.

The activity consists of:

Individual activities:
Step 1
Enter the learning environment and make a comprehensive review of the contents of
Unit 2 and the document called “método referencial de operaciones básicas para el
manejo del flujo logístico en pequeñas empresas latinoamericanas. El RAPDTt”,
in order to acquire knowledge necessary to develop the proposed activity.

Step 2
Each student must develop two conceptual or mental map: one of them, related to
Logistics and the Logistics System (Logistics Network), and the other about the
document mentioned in step 1. These must be supported in different software tools of
free web access. Share your maps on the collaborative forum.

Step 3
Propose a Company for characterizing the Logistics Network on the collaborative forum.

1
Collaborative activities:

Step 1
Study deeply the attached document Referential Model in Logistics, using the contents
of Unit 2.

Step 2
Characterize the Network Logistics for the company chosen. For these, you must
interview at least three executives or more from this company, applying the 13
instruments of "LOGISTICS REFERENCE MODEL" (Sahid, Feres – Ciati-JFK). In this
diagnosis process and research, you must conduct an objective observation of the
Logistics Network to the company belongs.

The instruments are NOT TO BE APPLIED AS SURVEYS. These are instruments for you
to carry out interviews with the executives of the companies that make up the Network
(Supply Chain).

Reality must be framed on a scale of 1 to 5 points. The evaluation levels are the
following: 1 Absolute weakness. (Very bad). 2 Relative weakness (Bad). 3 Weakness
(Regular). 4. Relative strength (Good). 5 strength (Very good). In each case the rating
is given for the extreme values (1 and 5).

Only personnel who have an adequate vision of the logistics performance of the
company, such as company executives and specialists working in the logistics area of
the company and executives and specialists from other areas that work closely with
the logistics area (production, purchasing, sales, finance, supply chain and logistics),
should participate in the INTERVIEW.

The INTERVIEWER GROUP must reflect and analyze during the INTERVIEW how the
interviewed people behave, if there is harmony, coherence in the concepts and
appreciations, if they are describing the duty to be or what it really is, if there are
contradictions, etc.

Step 3
Once the above is done, the WORKING GROUP must proceed to process the data with
statistical bases, which will allow achieving only one result. You can use for
representing information bar graphs, pie charts, infographics, among others.

2
The process of the data, once analyzed these, can be done in Excel (application that is
delivered or in which you or your group build), for each and every one of the elements
that make up the Reference Model. For each of the 13 elements, an analysis of the
variables must be produced, and a graph generated. In the same way, a synthesis
must be generated that allows to visualize the level of general compliance of the Model.

Step 4
Subsequently, the information received must be contrasted with the reality of the
processes and in meetings with personnel who are directly linked to them. In other
words, the information must be contrasted with a "see to believe" activity. You can ask
indexes for comparing these information form websites, financial balances sheets,
databases, etc.

Step 5
The group supported in the previous files on the level of compliance in logistics
characterization processes, must formulate strategies in logistics, design the logistics
system, propose training and training programs, make decisions with respect to each
of the elements of the Reference Model and, above all to build a MODERN CONCEPT
ON LOGISTICS, IN THE ENVIRONMENTS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT.

keep in mind for the development of the activity:

With the initial information located in learning environment, you must study Reference
Model in Logistics and the document “Método referencial de operaciones básicas para
el manejo del flujo logístico en pequeñas empresas latinoamericanas. El RAPDTt”, and
characterize the logistics network using the Reference model applied to a company.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must submit individual and collaborative

evidence in the requested space.

Individual Work Evidences:

The individual evidence to be submitted is:

Conceptual map related to Logistics and the Logistics System (logistic network). The
file must be placed in the evaluation environment, in the link "Phase 3 Characterize
the Logistics Network using a Reference Model. - Delivery of the activity", before the
closing date, as indicated in the agenda of the course.

3
Collaborative Evidences:
The collaborative evidence to be submitted is:

A report that contains:

• Cover page
• Introduction
• Objectives
• Development of the activity (Referential Model in Logistics).
• Conclusions
• Bibliography (APA) Standards.

Delivery of work:
The file must be placed in the Evaluation environment in the link “Phase 3

according to the indicated in the course agenda.

1. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit.

For Collaborative evidence, consider the following:

• The product of this moment will be selected and accepted by the group leader,
also the roles that might be needed. Moreover, sharing the strategy to be used
about the development of suggested work, this is to create participation,
assertive and efficient discussion by everyone of the participants in the

corresponding collaborative forum to allow the construction of each one of the
proposed products.
• All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.
• In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product
in the environment indicated by the teacher.
• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets
all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.
• Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found on the virtual

another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
includes citations where there is no match between these and the reference" and
paragraph f) "To reproduce, or copy for profit, educational resources or results of
research products, which have rights reserved for the University ". (Acuerdo 029 -
