Thank you, Mr./Ms. ___.

Before we proceed to the next slide, magkakaroon muna tayo ng

palaro.

Now, let's move on to the next slide, which is the other barriers.

STEREOTYPES
- The idea of stereotypes is based on our beliefs and perceptions about groups or
individuals.
Stereotypes can be positive or negative, but it is often problematic because it
simplifies and generalizes.

PREJUDICE
- It is generally defined as the treatment of others unfairly, biasedly, or intolerantly
because they belong to a certain race, religion, nationality, or other particular group
of people.
- For example, yung mga inappropriate jokes, pang iinsulto o pagtawag ng maitim,
bakla, mataba, pandak sa isang tao. Maaaring bumaba yung self confidence nila
dahil dito.

ASSUMPTION OF SIMILARITIES
- It simply means that just because we are all human ay hindi ibig-sabihin na lahat
tayo ay magkapareho. Many people mistakenly assume that simply being human
makes everyone alike. When interacting with people from different cultures, you
should expect that their communication styles may differ. You should be careful not
to interpret another individual's behavior through your own cultural lens.
- It is considered as a barrier because people can be unaware of important
differences between cultures when they assume similarity between them. A person
may behave as they would in their own culture when he or she does not know
anything about the new culture.

RACIAL DISCRIMINATION
- It is the act of discriminating against an individual on the basis of their race, ethnicity,
or skin color. It is considered a barrier because people who are discriminated against
are less likely to have opportunities and feel less well-being. It is not uncommon for
people who are constantly exposed to discrimination to internalize the prejudice or
stigma directed at them, resulting in feelings of shame, low self-esteem, fear, and
stress.
