II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the discussion, 90% of the students should be able to:
A. Understand what is Deferred Annuity
B. Find the Period of Deferral
C. Calculate the present value of a Deferred Annuity

III. PROCEDURE
Daily Routine
 Teacher tells students to stand up and pray. After which, the teacher greets
the students. And have an attendance

A. Preparatory Activities
Review Activity
 The teacher asks the students to move the chair to the side. Remain two
chairs at the center and the teacher would put Blue-colored paper to the chair
and Red-colored paper to the chair. The teacher then would show questions
related to the last topic which is simple annuity with the choices in colored red
or blue. The students would line to the Blue chair if their answer is blue and
red chair if their answer is red.

B. Lesson Proper

 Motivation

 The teacher will present an example relating to the topic which is


Deferred Annuity.

 Presentation of the Lesson

 The teacher will formally introduce the topic of the lesson and the lesson
objectives.

 Discussion

 The teacher will ask the students about their prior knowledge about
deferred annuity.

 The teacher will show some definition of terms that will be used during
the discussion.

 The teacher will start the discussion by presenting the meaning of


deferred annuity and the teacher would show some examples.

 The teacher will discuss how to identify the period of deferral and also
what is the formula to be used for finding the present value of deferred
annuities.

 The teacher will present some example problems in deferred annuity.

 Analysis

 With the teacher’s help, the students will sum up what has been
discussed with regards to deferred annuity.

 Application

 The Teacher will group the students into 4 groups. Each group will have
an illustration board and a chalk. The teacher will present some questions
related to deferred annuities. The students will have a designated time to
answer the questions and the students will write their answers at the
illustration board.

IV. EVALUATION
To assess how well the students have understood the lesson, the teacher will
conduct a 5-item quiz.

V. ASSIGNMENT
On a one half crosswise of paper. Solve the following problems.
1. Payment of ₱ 500.00 is made at each year for 10 years. Interest has a nominal rate of
8% convertible quarterly. Find the present and the future value
2. Monthly payment of the future value ₱ 20,000.00 for 2 years with an interest rate of
20% compounded quarterly. Find the Periodic Payment.
