I. Course Descriptions:

The course aims for an understanding of the application of laws in education. It includes review
of the service manual and other issuances affecting school such as presidential decrees, letter of
instructions, orders, memorandum circulars, bulletins, civil service rules, policies, guidelines focusing on
the new normal affecting organizations, teachers, students, parents, stakeholders and the community.

II. Course Outcomes:

At the end of the semester, students are expected to:


1. Demonstrate familiarity with terminology in the field of laws as it applies to education;
2. Gain awareness of major legal resources and ability to use the resources;
3. Cite significant cases, their influence on key areas of educational law;
4. Develop in depth understanding of land mark cases in various areas of the school law;
5. Evaluate legal issues involving private and public education including higher education;
6. Apply legal philosophy and social policy in formulating decisions on underlying legislation;
7. Develop understanding on the legal rights and responsibilities of administrators, teachers,
students, parents and the community;
8. Create positive culture that promotes learning by implementing appropriate management
techniques and group processes to define roles, assigned functions, effective delegations, and
determine accountability in the NEW NORMAL.
