INTRODUCTION:

The amount of paper waste is increasing due to continuous littering in the

area. This is one of the main reasons for the chronicity of improper waste disposal,
making it one of the most common problems society and nature are facing. Some
of the possible reasons why we are experiencing this problem are that some of us
are unable to acquire self-discipline and the lack of bins that separate recyclable
and non-recyclable materials.

Taylor, J. (2017) claims that the newest paper bag was introduced just a
minute before the first one, which was invented in 1852. There was just one maker
of paper carriers in the 19th century, but today there are numerous businesses
producing paper bags in a variety of sizes, from enormous totes to little paper bags
used for selling loose sweets, chocolates, and toffees. The first bag-making
machine was created by Francis Wolle, a teacher by profession. The second device
that can make flat-bottom paper bags was created in 1871 by Margaret E. Knight.
Today, a wide variety of brands are used by numerous producers. They are creating
paper carriers in large quantities together.

Reusing unwanted carton and paper as substitute of the ordinary grocery bag
will lessen the garbage in the community. Since the bag is made of waste paper it
may help in reducing greenhouse gas emissions that has contribute in climate
change. It also require less energy and water to produce than to make new papers
for making a new grocery bag. It also conserves natural resources and aims to
protect the environment. According to Wiggins, A. (2022) when it reaches the end
of its life-cycle, paper that is sent to landfill or incinerated will produce further
greenhouse gases as it degrades. Greenhouse gas emissions have caused a rapid
increase in the Earth’s temperature which, according to the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has risen by over 0.7°C in Europe over the last
century. That’s why it’s so important to recycle paper and give it a second life. In
comparison: Manufacturing recycled paper produces less CO2 and Greenhouse
gases than virgin fiber paper. A recent study suggests that paper-based packaging
can even be recycled more than 25 times before it is turned into bioenergy or being
composted at the end of its life cycle. Recycling paper means reducing polluting
emissions produced by landfill sites. Wastepaper is used because of its relevance in
B. Del Mundo. Using it can be beneficial for the community for it reduces solid
waste pollution. Cassava starch-based adhesive is synthesized by the reaction of
cassava starch with gelatinization modifiers, viscosity enhancer (such as borax)
and sometimes with other chemicals act as plasticizers. Cassava starch is
accustomed because the community produces a lot of its quantities, it is also
pertinent B. Del Mundo that’s why it’s the chosen strengthener.

This will not only benefit the store owners but also the citizens of the
community since they may use this as a carrier of their goods. This will help them
because it will not only cost less money but it will lessen the use of plastic that is
harmful for the environment. It will also help in deducting the waste carton from
the deliveries each store receives and the waste paper that citizens only burn. This
can give proper knowledge why it is important to recycle our waste and awareness
of the consequences of our actions.

The amount of paper waste is increasing due to continuous littering in the

area. Taras Oceanographic Foundation (2020) addressed that refuse had grown to
be significant issue by the 1700s; trash was still being dumped of trash was
prevalent. Despite this, it took another 150 years before scientific studies linking
disease to unhygienic living conditions contributed to ushering in the “age of
sanitation”. Our solution to this problem is to make an alternative grocery bag
made out of waste carton since this waste are the common founds in the
community.

Wastepaper is the variable used for it is one of the most common wastes in
B. del Mundo.
