I have had the opportunity to experience freedom, and I can say without a doubt that

it is a fantastic experience. My experience has taught me that everyone has a unique

conception of what freedom means to them. My definition of freedom is the capacity to

create the kind of life you desire for yourself and to do so happily. To be free means to

be able to develop into the person you want to be without having to be concerned about

the societal restraints and social standards of today's society, which put a lot of pressure

on individuals to conform to their expectations. When you are a child and you are

growing older, I believe that the rules that your family establishes for you to follow can

serve to restrict some of your freedom. There are a lot of young people nowadays that

do not particularly agree with a few of the things their parents did when they were

growing up, and this is true in the majority of situations. Due to the fact that I do not

adhere to the same level of liberalism as my family does, I had to figure out what I

agreed and disagreed with as I got older. However, not all of us had the opportunity to

be free, and some of those people had their freedom taken away from us. I have to add,

as a citizen of a democratic country, that the fact that we Filipinos have the freedom to

choose our own leader is a tremendous source of relief. It is the liberty that citizens of

other countries do not have. When you have freedom, you are able to express yourself,

act how you want, make the decisions you want, and do the things you choose.
