e. Activity BRIGADA PAGBASA – The Department of education launched BRIGADA PAGBASA , a
Description movement that seeks to enhance the reading skills of Filipino Children. This project is
an extension of Brigada Eskwela campaign that promotes community participationin
time for school opening. In response to “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa. As a BE
implementer, we conducted this partnership initiative for reading which serves as a
platform to synergize education-related endeavors that immediately addresses literacy
and numeracy learning gaps. As an initiative, Magtuad Elementary School launched
SIRAK Magtuad, a reading program created by the Reading Coordinator. This Reading
Program was made possible in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan who serves
as the Reading Buddies to intensify after-school reading. We tap the community as
“right bearer” of rights to education.

promote the culture of reading.
