1.

The distribution is the electrical system which gets the electrical supply from the generation and
transmission system down to the consumers.
2.

Generation Plant Transmission Distribution End user

3. Feeders are the electrical lines on which electricity is being transferred from the substation to
distribution lines. Distributor is the line which delivers the electricity from the distribution to the
consumer. Service mains serve as taps from the electrical provider down to its end user or
consumer.

4. Underground lines have more protection because it has low exposure on its surrounding. It is
also more aesthetically good on visuals. Since it has less outage due to maintenance, it could
operate more. On the other hand, its disadvantages are it cost more than overhead lines. It is
also more difficult to repair because it is buried. It could be entangled to other lines such as
water and telecommunication lines.

Overhead lines are cheaper to construct and install. It is also easier to repair because it is not
engrave. The place could be anywhere as long as it has no obstacle. More voltages could be
transmitted in an overhead line. On the other hand, it is also more prone to hits by animals,
thunder and trees. This means that it is more prone to damage thus repair.

5. Radial system in distribution is having a single power source to supply numerous clients. Ring
main system utilizes two feeders on a distribution which could be a support if the main line is
disrupted. Interconnected system is when all the power generators are connected on the load,
thus if the load is too high, then another generator could be used also.

6. First is its reliability. The proposed distribution line should be reliable enough before it should be
considered to be constructed. Occulars and test should be done to ensure its reliability when
operating. Next is cost, all should be in par with the cost but not affecting its output. Since this is
a major component in electrical system. All materials should be top quality and according to the
electrical code and EE laws.
7.
The AC electrical system utilizes the three wire or three phase system. This is to increase the
load or end users that a source could supply. The electrical system starts from the power
generation plants which will supply the substations. These substations have transformers which
will regulate the voltage. These voltages and current will be the one loaded on the distribution
lines to the end users.

8. Distribution transformers are the last transformers before the end users. It adjust the voltages
of the lines depending on the current load. Three wire dc Distribution System which makes
available two voltages viz. V volts between any outer and neutral and 2V volts between the
outers. Motor loads requiring high voltage are connected between the outers whereas lighting
and heating loads requiring less voltage are connected between any one outer and the neutral.
Due to the availability of two voltages, Three Wire DC Distribution System is preferred over 2-
wire system for d.c. distribution. Primary distribution operates at the high voltage. Primary
distribution is usually carried out by 3-phase,3-wire system.Electric power from the generating
station is transmitted through extra high tension transmission lines at voltage from 33 to 765
kv,to the substations. At the substations called secondary substations the voltage is stepped
down to 11,6.6 or 3.3 KV with the help of power transformers for primary distribution.
9. Yes, Because the voltage from the transmission lines are higher than the distribution. This is
because the voltage from the distribution has gone through some transformers. Which aligns
the voltages according to their load.
10.Yes because Electrical distribution systems are an essential part of the electrical power system.
In order to transfer electrical power from an alternating current (AC) or a direct current (DC)
source to the place where it will be used, some type of distribution network must be utilized
Distribution systems usually employ such equipment as transformers, circuit breakers, and
protective devices. It generally consists of feeders, distributors.
