Dear Head of Eura 2000 School,

From April 7th to the 9th the annual Dilijan Model United Nations (DiliMUN) in-person
conference will be organized at the United World College in Dilijan, Armenia. MUN (Model
United Nations) is an academic simulation of the United Nations for internationally-oriented
scholars from countries all over the world, organized entirely by students. During the
conference, the participants will converse and debate in English about UN-related issues to
solve this in a politically correct manner. We expect that this year around 100 students will
take part in the conference and these will be divided into a number of committees to together
search for the solutions to current global problems.

We are more than willing to welcome students from your school in Dilijan in order to
participate in this year’s DiliMUN - the only official MUN in the region. We would appreciate it
if you could spread the word in the school community and help us involve the talented and
enthusiastic youth in this advantageous conference.

DiliMUN is the first MUN organized in Armenia, organized by students of UWC Dilijan. We
hope to reach out to students from all around the Caucasus and more. DiliMUN aims to give
the talented youth a platform to challenge themselves academically, have a model
experience of MUN, and become global citizens aware of our world. Our conference is
suitable for beginner delegates as it allows students to start their MUN career in a safe and
accepting environment. Through workshops, documents, and experienced Chairpersons we
aim to assist students in their development of critical thinking, understanding, arguing, and
solution-creating skills. Keeping in mind that UWC Dilijan is an environment with people from
over 83 countries, it also allows the delegates to widen their horizons and develop their
intercultural understanding. We are honored to assist the participants with their future by
forming a platform for the development of themselves and our world.

In the actual conferences, you will experience adrenaline-pumping debates, well-drafted

resolutions, and constructive, collaborative lobbying. However, the MUN experience is never
limited to inside the conference; with abundant activities and events organized by us to give
you insight into Armenian culture and life in Dilijan, we guarantee that this conference will be
intellectually-stimulating, fun, and memorable.

The theme of DiliMUN 2023 is: ‘Sustainable Development: promoting welfare in a

divided society ’

Sustainable development is developing the world to meet its own needs, without harming
current and future generations, sustaining nature and its ability to provide resources. Our
goal with this theme is to focus on growing our society into a prosperous and united one.

Our conference will offer delegates the unique opportunity to explore the role they might play
in influencing our future. By engaging in a multitude of discussions, participants will develop
solution-oriented critical thinking skills to tackle global concerns. The theme “Sustainable
Development: promoting welfare in a divided society” will additionally give our delegates the
opportunity to reflect on a number of thought-provoking prompts and questions.
