GENERAL GUIDELINES

On Outcomes
1. Identify the most essential intended
learning outcomes for every course.
2. Ensure alignment of the intended learning
outcomes with course and program
outcomes.
3. Observe constructive alignment among
outcomes, content, teaching-learning
activities (TLAs), and assessment
tasks (ATs).

4. Identify the most essential contents aligned
with the learning outcomes.
5. Integrate the development of values and
life skills.
6. Integrate development of higher-order
thinking skills.
7. Consider student-related factors in specifying
TLAs as well as materials needed.

8. Provide multiple options for the
delivery of instruction (e.g. face-to-face,
online).
9. Apply the principles of contextualization,
localization, and interdisciplinary
contextualization.
10. Consider feasibility (time frame, mode
of delivery, resources needed, etc.)

On Assessment Tasks
11. Be clear and specific about how
assessment tasks will be graded. Provide
criteria and rubrics.
12. Provide clear directions and guide,
template, sample, or prompts to facilitate
understanding of the assessment tasks.
13. Specify expected date and mode of
submission of assessment tasks. Include
place of submission if physical copy is
preferred.

14. Specify guidelines for practicum. If face-


to-face/in-person practicum is not feasible,
provide other options, ensuring that the expected
outcomes are still achieved.

On Resources
15. Specify the resources/materials needed by the
students to accomplish activities or tasks.
16. Consider the cost and availability of materials
needed by the students.

17. Use technology to aid teaching and learning but


be mindful of students’ conditions related to
digital literacy, availability of needed resources,
internet connectivity, economic aspect, etc.
18. Make use of available resources in the school or
in the community.

On Policies
19. Specify policies on academic integrity.
20. Include policies on health and safety protocols, if
face-to-face classes will be allowed.

21. Specify policies on participation and


attendance (e.g. online discussion, face-to-face
mid-term/final examination).

On Consultation
22. Specify consultation hours and possible mode of
consultation.
