#1) Genesis is the only book of the Bible that prophesies a 400 year slavery. Many (not all) people believe that it is a reference to the captivity in Egypt, but it has been pointed out that the Septuagint mentions Israel spending 215 years in Canaan and 215 years in Egypt, for a total of 430 years. This prophecy fits the
Transatlantic Slave Trade because most acknowledge that the 400 year date is precise to scripture and fits a worldwide enslavement of a nation that was scattered worldwide by said slavery.

#3) References to Israel being “scattered” and “removed” are references to purposeful effort against their will and not voluntary migration.

#4) A common narrative is that Israel was scattered into all nation, but people often leave out that the scattering would be via slavery. Slavery is a significant part of Israel being scattered, and to leave it out strips the prophecy of its context.

#8) Oppression is often left out of the interpretation of Israel’s enslavement because many people focus solely on the slavery prophecies.

#14) Mental health has recently become a major topic of discussion within the black community. While this is not unique to the black community, it is a somewhat obscure sign that can be added to the growing list of other signs.

#15) The reason curses are used as a sign to identify Israel is because Israel has had their history erased. Families were divided, names were changed, history was stripped, and religion was replaced during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Curses as a sign are much harder to cover up. The “Curse of Ham” was used to
justify the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The curses of Deut. 28 are used to explain the condition of black people all over the world today. Differences aside, both groups seem to agree that what is happening to black people around the world seems like a curse.

#21) There are multiple references to Israel’s enemies arriving via ships from a land across the sea, and there are also references to Israel being enslaved and moved aboard ships. This would make those sips “slave ships”.

#26) The word “nigger” is used as a racial slur (byword) all over the world. This seems to be unique to victims and descendants of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

#27) The black community seems to be hated without cause, even though the people that hate us are the descendants of kidnappers, slave owners, rapists, and murderers that brought out ancestors here. This is true worldwide.

#31) The idea of Israel being gathered from all nations maybe why the doctrine of “the rapture” of the church is taught in the manner that it is. This event is known to many in the Israelite community as the “2nd Exodus”.

#33) Judgement of the nations because of what they did to Israel is often left out of mainstream eschatological teachers, but the Bible gives the impression that it is the central reason for the judgement of the nations.

#35) Many people (not all) interpret the reference to the bird and eagle as a reference to Rome. However, the same bird and eagle can also correctly be applied to the United States of America.

#37) Acts 2:20 references these events during Peter’s sermon and he associates them with the still to come “day of the Lord”.

#45) Replacement Theology teaches that the promises made to Israel will now go to the Church. However, there were no land promises made to the Church. Only to Israel.

#46) The theme of repentance to achieve salvation I consistent throughout scripture. In order for Israel to end their final captivity, they will need to do the same.

#51) Some people falsely claim that the curses had to occur “in the land”, but that phrase is only found among the blessings of Deut. 28. The rest of the chapter and other books of the Bible make it clear that the curses will follow Israel wherever they are scattered.

#53) The idea that strangers within a nation would be more prosperous than the nation they reside within, is a historical anomaly.

Personal Observations & Notes

1. Deuteronomy chapters 4, 28, 30, and 32 are all talking about the same event.
2. Deuteronomy chapters 4 and 32 place the event in the latter days or end times.
3. Joel chapter 3 connects the slavery of Israel to “The Day of The Lord” and events such as the sun and moon being darkened, and the stars falling from heaven / losing their light.
4. Joel chapter 3 and “The Olivet Discourse” (Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13) both mention Israel’s slavery in connection with end time events.
5. Joel chapter 3 seems to be an explanation of “why” the events in the book of Revelation are happening.
6. Joel provides several important timeline clues that may be key to understanding end time events:
o 2:31 tells us that the sun will be darkened, and the moon will turn to blood BEFORE “The Day of The Lord”.
o 3:1 tells us that DURING the days of end time events, Israel will be regathered, but the nations will be gathered as well for judgement.
7. Much of the imagery in the book of Joel is consistent with the imagery found in the book of Revelation.
8. “The Day of The Lord” seems to be the same event as the 1,000 year reign of Christ.
9. Israel’s worldwide scattering via slavery is directly connected to end time events including the 2nd coming of Christ.
10. Israel’s repentance and calling out to TMH are directly tied to the 2nd coming of Christ.
11. The book of Isaiah links the creation of the “new heaven and new earth” with the regathering of Israel.
12. At first glance the book of Nehemiah appears to be the fulfillment of Deuteronomy chapters 4, 28, and 32 but that captivity was not worldwide.
o Even if we accepted this event as the fulfillment of the prophecies found in Deuteronomy, we’d still have to historically locate the worldwide slavery spoken of by Christ in Luke 21:24, which contains some of the same imagery found in Joel 3, Ezekiel 39, and Isaiah 60.
o In order to make this fit, we’d also have to conclude that the law and the prophets were speaking of multiple different worldwide enslavements of Israel, all with different signs associated with them. To date, multiple worldwide slaveries cannot be confirmed historically. The Transatlantic Slave Trade
continues to be the first and only truly worldwide slave trade in recorded history.
13. In John 8:33 the Pharisees declare that they have never been in bondage, so they couldn’t understand how Christ was going to make them free. John is believed to have been written 80 – 90 AD about events taking place 30 – 33 AD. This statement indicates that there was no recent (to that time) significant slavery
in their past. Especially not a worldwide slavery on the level of that referred to by the prophets. This also indicates that Christ’s reference to a worldwide slavery in Luke 21:24 would be a fulfillment of previous Old Testament prophecies.

14. The entire book of Revelation seems to be the Old Testament event referred to as “The Day of The Lord”.
15. Revelation 18:13 mentions that “Babylon” is involved in the slave trade. This is the only verse in Revelation that specifically references slavery in any context.

*Verse Notes

16. *Genesis 9:27 translates the Hebrew word “pathah” (Strong’s #6601) as “enlarge”, but it is translated as “deceive, entice, persuade, and flatter” in other verse such as: Ex. 22:16, Deut. 11:16, Judges 14:15, 1 Kings 22:21, Job 21:9, Jeremiah 20:10, and Ezekiel 14:9.
17. *Deuteronomy 5:9 - speaks on multi generational punishment. This is repeated in Exodus 20:5 and 34:7 & Numbers 14:18.
18. *1 Kings 9:6-9 – This is repeated in 2 Chronicles 7:19-22.
19. *Isaiah 10:1-2 – In these verses we see what is happening to Israel is almost identical to what TMH said he’d do to Israel in Ezekiel 22:29-31. This is a warning to the nation that does these things, even though it’s prophesied to happen to Israel as a punishment.
20. *Jeremiah 16:19 – The Gentiles come from “the end of the earth” confessing that their fathers have inherited lies. See the entry for Genesis 9:27 above. In Genesis 10:1-5 identifies the descendants of Japheth with the Gentiles. This verse may be the fulfilment of the words spoken to Japheth in Genesis 9:27.
21. *Ezekiel 22:29-31 – This verse seems to indicate that the things Israel was guilty of would also be done to them: oppression, robbery, vexed the poor and needy, and oppressed the stranger wrongfully. See Isaiah 10:1-2.
22. *Joel 3:17 – The reference to no more “strangers” passing through Jerusalem could be a reference to the time of the Gentiles being fulfilled in Luke 21:24.
23. *Amos 9:1-3 – These verse do not specifically talk about regathering Israel, but they do affirm God’s ability to find and gather anyone from anywhere on the planet.
24. *Zephaniah 3:10 – This verse seems to indicate that Israel would be carried far away from Israel across the sea. Acts 7:43 mentions that Israel will be carried “beyond Babylon”, which seems to also indicate that they would be carried very far away.
25. *Matthew 24:31 & Mark 13:27 – Many people believe that this is a reference to the church, but could it be a reference to the regathering of Israel mentioned throughout the Old Testament?
26. *Acts 7:43 – This verse is the only verse that contains the phrase “beyond Babylon” linked to Israel’s scattering.
27. *Revelation 6:4 & 6:8 – These references are not solid. It does reference a “Great Sword” (6:4), which is consistent with other sword references, but the context is to take peace from the earth and not just Israel (6:4 & 8).
28. *Revelation 15:3-4 – Most Christians link this verse to Exodus 15’s “Song of Moses”, which is about Israel being freed from Egypt, but why would that be sang in the book of Revelation?
o Some link the verses to Deuteronomy 32’s “Song of Moses”, which is about Israel being God’s chosen people, them disobeying, God scattering them as punishment, and their redemption.
o Both references make mention of Israel’s slavery and deliverance from it. Revelation 15:3-4 references a past slavery in Egypt and redemption from it, while Deuteronomy 32 references a future slavery in what some believe to be a “2nd Egypt” based on Deuteronomy 28:68, that results in them being
scattered into all nations, but are ultimately redeemed from the coming slavery in “Egypt” as well.
29. *Revelation 18:13 – References judgement coming upon Babylon and their selling of slaves, but does not specifically mention whether or not the slaves are Israelites.
