    Term Definition

    Breakout rooms A teacher can break a remote class into smaller groups so that
    learners can interact with each other. Learners need to
    understand what a breakout room is and how they work.

    Collaborate To work together with another person or people.

    Device A mobile phone, tablet or computer.

    Distort Change the shape or sound of something.

    Drainers People who take energy away from you.

    Energisers People who give you energy.

    Eye contact When people look at each-others’ eyes.

    Fatigue Tiredness.

    Gestures Movements we make with our hands to aid communication.

    Gif An image that moves.

    Highlights The good things that happen during your day.

    Kanban board A board with three or more columns that is used for organising
    work.

    Model Demonstrate something.

    Monitor Watch our students while they work.

    Mute Turn off sound.

    Nominate Choose someone by using their name.

    Offload Share our problems with someone.
