Lab 6 Skills Test Practice

• This is a simulation to the Skills test. No talking, no asking questions during the lab
• Use Password Spring2021 as the local administrator password

This lab will be based on finishing the lab completely not partially. Either you get 100% or 0 on
this lab.

The lab has to be finished during the scheduled lab time

 Skills Test Practice

1- Create a folder under my documents to save the new VMs files, name the folder SkillsTest
2- Create a VM for Windows 2016 DC3 server
3- The VM must have the following:

a. VM Name: DC3-JS, where JS are your initials

b. Generation 1
c. The Startup Memory: 2048 MB
d. Connection: InternalLabSwitch
e. Save the files in the folder that you created in step one, and change the size to 30 GB
f. Install Windows Servers 2016, Desktop Experience installation. The Server ISO
image is on the desktop with the name
“SW_DVD9_Win_Server_STD_CORE_2016_64Bit_English_-4_DC_STD_MLF_X21-
70526”
4- Once the installation is done, do the following changes:

a. Change the Time Zone to -5 Eastern Time US and Canada.

b. Change the IP settings of DC3 to the following

IP: 192.168.xx.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Preferred DNS The IP address of DC1
Alternate DNS The IP address of DC2

c. Change the name of the computer to DC3-JS (replace JS with your initials)
d. After restarting DC3, login as Administrator
e. Join DC3 to your existing domain
