niversity of Oxfordshire by Universal College Oxfordshire (UCO) is a premium provider of foreign
degree programmes in the streams of Business and Management, Administration, Finance and
Accounting, Logistics and Supply Chain, Project Management, Computing, HRM, Risk
Management Information Technology, Law, Art, Health, Psychology, Social Care, Tourism and Hospitality,
Education, Nursing, Health/ Environment Science, Fashion Designing, Engineering, Languages, Short Courses,

INSTITUTION BACKGROUND
As a pioneer in providing world class educational opportunities to the island country of Sri Lanka and its
student community in tertiary education including undergraduate and postgraduate studies along with the more
short-term focused certificate and short course programmes, the institution was established in the year 2015 as
IBM (Pvt) Limited. IBM (Pvt) Limited offered a number of higher education courses including Doctorates and
even filled the gap of the industry by offering corporate training programmes. Partnering with Aldersgate
College, Philippines, and the Cambridge Association of Entrepreneurs (UK), IBM (Pvt) LTD completed nearly
02 years of successful existence. In 2017, as a measure of moving forward, the institution was upscaled into a
fully-fledged higher education institution offering even a wider array of courses in several previously uncharted
paths. The courses offered ranged from a full scale OTHM continuum in par with the UK educational standards.
The institution’s name was also changed to Universal College London (Pvt) LTD in parallel to this
transformation to ensure the institute lives up to the namesake. However, following a requirement to change the
name of the institute, in 2021 a facelift rebranding is currently undergoing as the Universal College Oxfordshire
(Pvt) LTD. The rebranding is further strengthened with the new affiliations and partnerships established with
some of the leading HEIs in the United Kingdom, including Buckinghamshire New University, Anglia Ruskin
University, University of Bolton, University of Derby, University of Essex and the Cardiff Metropolitan
University along with various other leading higher education partners.

The governance council of the institute has continued from the 2015’s establishment as the IBM (Pvt) LTD and
Ms. Jayangi Randima has since led the institute in all three phases, initially as the Directress and hence as the
Managing Directress/CEO as per the current management structure. Further management team consists of Dr.
Joshi Parikshit Dean, FDP-M (IIM Ahmedabad), NET(Management), Ph.D. (Human Resource), MBA (HR& Marketing), B. Tech (Electrical & Electronics),

and Eng. Inglesi Roberto, Dean – Faculty of Fashion Design.

While the institute has historically had an annual average enrollment of nearly 400 students, while the
September intake for the year 2021 is still pending, for the year 2021 following the rebranding, the Universal

College of Oxfordshire already is enriched with around 170 direct enrolled graduate and undergraduate students
following their higher studies in various fields of specialization, including, Business Management, Bio Medical
Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Legal Studies. Additionally, the outward studentship affiliation
program is in existence with over 55 countries.

Don J. Randi is the Founder and the Managing Director of the (University of Oxfordshire) Universal College
Oxfordshire. She possesses both vast knowledge and years of experience in Sri Lankan private education
industry. Ms. Randi Co-Founded IBM in 2015 & Universal College London in 2017 was appointed as the
Managing Directress, CEO. Rather than concentrating on one industry, she has achieved entrepreneurial
experience in diverse industries which brings strategic inputs and experience to the BOD in Universal College
Oxfordshire. She has headed Universal College London Pvt Ltd, Nations Trust Holdings London (Pvt) Ltd,
Royal Alliance Holdings Pvt Ltd which was into import and export business, Gem & Jewelry, Automobile
Vehicle Import from UK, Japan, and Real-Estate. Further, she headed Royal Vuitton & Shop & Online which
was an online sales platform.

She is an MBA and BA (Hons) Business Management Graduate at (Buckinghamshire New University-UK).
She has completed Six Sigma Green Belt at Cambridge Association of Entrepreneurship (CAE-UK). Currently,
she is reading her Ph.D. in PC University (Philippines). With her strong background in academic education, she
thought of building an empire in higher education. She believes in developing a higher education system will
erode the poverty in Sri Lanka as well as in the whole world. When it comes to the extra-curricular activities,
she was significantly involved with sports and fashion industry in Sri Lanka. She reached to the upmost top
positions where she was selected to the Miss Sri Lanka Competition organized by Sunday Observer 2010. She
is a great public figure in Sri Lanka with a network expanded deeper in the business community which drives
her towards success in diversified industries. Her ambition is to make UCO the leader in private education
industry in Sri Lanka & Internationally with her knowledge and experience.

Dr. Joshi is an iconic Professor in South Asia with more than 13 years of experience in several academic
institutions. He possesses the Masters and Doctorate Degree MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (India).
Further, He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Uttar Pradesh Technical
University Lucknow and specialized in Electrical & Electronics. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of
Management Ahmedabad.

Dr. Joshi has authored more than 5 books and has contributed around 10 chapters in several books of
international repute. Further, he has contributed more than 50 Research Papers in several academic journals and
has presented his research work in more than 25 seminars and conferences.

Dr. Joshi has more than 13 years of experience as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in several
Universities in India. Currently, Dr. Joshi is associated with Graphic Era Hill University, Haldwani,
Uttarakhand (India). Dr. Joshi has guided more than 200 students in MBA dissertation and 6 scholars have
successfully completed their Ph.D. under his able guidance.
